He sent me an axe head from @corrado.blacksmithing to make a custom handle for. Handle is hickory and silver maple Burl. Maple Burl came from my friend @jonesworkshop

Into exotic wood species? Check out my friend’s page @mickey.freed. He crafts axes, hammers, and hatches out of rare wood species. Each piece is hand-built with incredible attention to detail, and he’s currently open for commissions.

Vintage Collins Legitimus Hammer
•
Photography opportunities and subjects are abundant, and I strive to remain open to them at all times.

Often, however, friends or family provide me with subject matter that I would never have found on my own! I am always so grateful when this happens.

My friend Mickey @mickey.freed restores old hammers and axes, using beautiful exotic hardwoods. He recently found this vintage hammer (made by the Collins Company) that had been repaired in a very unusual way. Instead of using wedges to tighten the hammer head onto the handle, the hammer's previous owner used nails.

When Mickey showed me a picture of this hammer, I asked him if I could borrow it in order to photograph it, and he agreed!

Light painting allows us to depict a subject in unique ways, revealing exceptional depth, detail, and dimension through the use of light. We have the ability to reveal what isn't seen under other lighting conditions!

Happy Light Painting... and always remember... Skim The Light.

Yup, it’s been a 5-beer Friday type of week. All these brews are some trade with the awesome craft beer community! And Baby Beerdling is rocking some new Puma kicks so I gotta keep up my Adidas (yup Star Wars) kicks.
🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺☺️🤤🥴 👟
@forestandmain Prom Night is a clear, light, citrusy, crushable what session from @brewgenix_beer...3.75/5.0 (better, just not a session drinker). @sixpoint Meltdown is a hazy that’s sweet and malty with a slight dank finish (thanks @mickey.freed)...3.5/5.0. @odd13brewing Colorado Kid from my girls @crazystoutladies is a funky IPA on the nose but a bitter floral hoppy finish...4.0/5.0.
@beardosbrews delivers this awesome @icarusbrewing Science & Falling sour IPA that looks like grapefruit juice and drinks like a delightful passionfruit guava sour with a hint of hoppy bitterness...4.75/5.0 ❤️ Finally the nail in my coffin from @centraljersey_beer_mule is @imprintbeer, their Schmoojee Margareeta Blueberry Coconut. Thicker and a blast of blueberry that can’t go wrong...4.5/5.0
