What a weekend! I'm still shattered and buzzing!

I think it's fair to say everyone had a lovely time no matter what day they came by! The music, crowd, energy and general positivity throughout was amazing to see. This was a pretty big one to put on, but the response meant it was worth while.

You cant do this stuff without other people, and I got some shout outs 📣

@donnasmart77 for sharing the same level of enthusiasm for this one and making sure the finer details are 💯 @patchplaces team and bar staff.. you're all great to work with 🤌🏻
@tordaforce for coming to me months ago about the @artsbythesea fringe and for pulling so many local venues and promotors, artists and more into the mix.
@olly_sundown for the wicked graphics and chats down the ☎️
@mickybrowne1975 for curating some lovely music from local grassroots artist @jameseburtonmusic & @campari0safari who delivered incredible live music which was a perfect fit for a Sunday session.
@robdabank1973 for making the journey to Bournemouth to spin a fantastic selection of dreamy ambient music, sounds and textures. That was brilliant dude 👊🏻 great to see you.
@swn_dada for driving from West Wales to Bournemouth with loads of music making kit, then tearing it up all while jamming live!🙌🏻
@nicolaslove69 for bringing his skills out from the studio, who warmed the rig up with some incredible soundscapes and beats. 👌🏻 Nailed it mate x and his sexy oil wheel lamps 💡
Second Nature Collective @dareoneizm @chris.the.drum.edwards @south_beach_recycling_sfsb who smashed out a live house set with live drums in full concentration mode. 🤟🏻
@jakeastonreed and @south_beach_recycling_sfsb for DJing with the finest 🍷 selections and getting the dancefloor shaking. That was ace.
@pickled_mongoose for cooking up the tastiest 🤤 food, that keep us all going 😁

We've all been looking forward to this one for a good few months now.

As part of the Arts by the Sea Fringe, we've taken over Patch in the Bobby's building for three days of music, from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th October.

It's a showcase of some of our favourite local DJs and musicians, alongside a few friends from further afield coming along to add a little extra spice to the weekend.

And for those who haven't yet experienced the Hearing Colours soundsystem — this is your chance to come and see (and hear) it in the flesh. It's a thing of beauty, and one of those things that really has to be heard to be understood.

If you're local and love supporting grassroots events, this is one to get behind. A huge amount of work, time and passion has gone into making this happen.

Three days. Fantastic music. A beautiful setting. A hand-built soundsystem.

What's not to love?

Tickets are selling fast, so grab one of the last few while you can.

This is shaping up to be a fantastic end to the weekend.

Introducing... Haram Tapes

Haram Tapes is the dark ambient project of Robin (See Safari) and Pete Reeves (Sumatran Black), English teachers from Bournemouth who reconnected via SoundCloud — Robin in Vienna, Pete in Istanbul — and have swapped stems remotely since 2018, building heavily manipulated field recordings, eyewitness speech and tape loops from samples gathered from friends and collaborators they met through their teaching work; the project takes Muslimgauze as a direct influence, but where Bryn Jones never visited the places that so fascinated him, Haram Tapes' material comes from people they actually know, giving the same tape-worn, far-away sound a politically neutral, first-hand source — a DIY, self-released series of tapes (Bandcamp and tape only, no manager or publicist) a body of work that's been featured in Pitchfork alongside Björk and Moor Mother, praised by Robin Rimbaud (Scanner), write ups in Bandcamp new releases of the week section , The Quietus for Spools out Tape section and respected German language electronic mag Groove magazines tape section

Radio dj play / live history : Daniel Avery on his NTS show , Cem Herrensaunas Rinse Fm Mix and used by Kutmah to open up his Dekmantel show and Stuart Maconies freakzone show on bbc six music and with warm up shows for William Basinski in Istanbul and residency at Rhiz Vienna this is their first stripped back to basics live show in the uk and focussing on the dubbier elements of their music in keeping with the sound system tradition of low rumble to the chest vibration healing the nation . A long time ambition of playing the hometown finally becomes reality”

Over this coming week, I'll be introducing all of the artists performing at the fringe event, with a write up of what they will bring to the evening.. or day!

And to kick this off, I'd like to talk about a good friend of mine who has been pivotal in helping me with this (and previous) event(s), as well as hours spent chatting about my system, future ideas, direction and possibilities, with passion and energy that is infectious...

Introducing... Micky Browne

Micky is a record collector and DJ known for his eclectic taste and original sets. Micky moves freely across the musical spectrum. Never one to be pinned down by trends, he actively avoids the more commercial side of things, instead digging deep for lesser-known cuts and championing unsung heroes. His approach has earned him guest slots on Worldwide FM, Rinse FM and 1BTN, as well as a growing reputation for putting together sets that are both unexpected and carefully considered.

Over the years, Micky has had the privilege of warming up for Groove Armada, Prosumer, Bradley Zero, Gerd Janson and Jim Stanton, alongside many other respected names. His ability to set the scene and get a room moving has seen him play everything from intimate club nights to major festivals, including We Out Here, We Are Love, Camp Bestival and Alfresco, as well as countless smaller events and local showcases.

Whether digging deep into his record collection, supporting emerging talent, curating a stage or setting the tone for a headline act, Micky’s focus remains the same: good music, good people and NoBorders.

As head honcho of Noborders, Micky will be soundtracking the Sunday 4th session around the live acts and headliner.

As part of @artsbythesea Fringe festival 2026, we are taking over @patchplaces in Bournemouth for 3 days, from Friday 2nd Oct to Sunday 4th October.
We've got a stellar line up of artists playing live and spinning records across the weekend.

Kicking off the weekend with a bang.. we're throwing a big party on Friday 2nd October, cranking the system up, spinning massive tunes, and getting those butts movin!
We'll be bringing in extra subs and vintage tweeters to get the dancefloor shaking.
Moodz will also be colouring the space with vintage oil wheel projections

7pm - 12am

Saturday 3rd October will showcase 3 acts of live electronic hardware performances.
Exploring a variety of sounds and textures, and using a wide array of hardware, modular synths, mpcs, drum machines and instruments, alongside visual projections, this night promises to be an experimental and immersive sonic + visual treat!

Capping off the weekend, we will be slowing things down, and handing over the reins to @noborecs for a super chilled out Sunday Session Takeover. Come down, unwind and let the beautiful ambient sounds relax your body and soul, while you feast on goan-inspired small plates, and sip on chai.

For this special daytime event, NoBorders have curated a fantastic line up of live performances and djs.

From enjoying music at Tomorrow's Warriors tent to seeing talented artists like @nyjouk, @rosie.turton, @cassiekinoshi, Kae Tempest, Elements of Life, and Galliano, the festival celebrated both up-and-coming talents and well-known performers.

@6acchus impressed on the keyboards, giving us a sneak peek of hopefully upcoming albums.

Corinne Bailey Rae's "Black Rainbow" album performance was innovative and uplifting.

The atmosphere at the Love Dancing tent was lively, though the music was a bit too loud during Louie Vega's Dingwall Sunday performance.

Jerry Dammers brought classic reggae vibes with his 45s.

@domservini looked sharp in an African-themed shirt while playing a mix that highlighted Galliano samples, providing both entertainment and insight!

Experiencing the unique local vibes at the @reddsugarblack curated stage and the @soul45djs session was a real joy! 🎶🌟

Once again, @velodomcafe impressed with their exceptional range of coffee, delicious cakes, and excellent service.

Additionally, the audience didn't shy away from voicing their opinions on recent local and global issues, staying true to the festival's values. 🔥🌍✊🏿
