15 years ago today, Rafael James Nemee was born sleeping. I am pregnant with him in this picture - it is the last one we have of the six of us. It was the hardest day of my life, and I really didn’t know how I was going to make it through. Not only was I in physical pain from a difficult birth, emotionally I didn’t know how to process losing a child. Telling Samuel that his baby brother wasn’t coming home, and breaking his little 7 year old heart was unbearable. Mike and I promised Rafe that we would never forget him!!! That’s why I make this post each year honoring our 3rd son. Yesterday, I took a wrong turn while trying to find a hotel. I pulled my car over and looked up. I saw a Catholic Church named St. Rafael. I knew immediately it was a sign from our son that he is always with us. The Communion of Saints has never been more present to me. Until we meet again, play with the angels my sweet baby boy. Mommy loves you with all my heart 💙

I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career playing Division 1 volleyball at the University of California Santa Barbara!

First, I want to thank God for giving me this amazing blessing. It is everything I have dreamed of and more. To my Mom and Dad and my two brothers for being there for me every step of the way and being my foundation.

To my teammates @smramsgirlsvolleyball and @rage_volleyball_club_ you are my everything. We win and lose together. Thank you for believing in me, trusting me with the first pass, and for being the sisters I never had.

Coach Henchy, Coach Charlie, and Coach Sam you are the most wonderful coaching staff a girl could ask for. Thank you for your patience, for answering all my questions, and for treating me like a person, not just a player, in this recruiting journey. I love your vision for @ucsbvolleyball and I can’t wait to be a Gaucho!

I would not be at this point in my life if it weren’t for the women who inspired me to love this game. Mrs. McShane, @molly_hummel12 @dhardcastle16 and the late Jayne McHugh thank you for sharing your passion with me and for teaching me the game.

@volleyballlessons thank you for helping me keep my mind calm, my feet simple, and my hands clean I’ll see you soon we are just getting started.

To my Rage Volleyball Club family, there are not enough words to express my gratitude. Debbie and Dave, thank you for giving each of your athletes the best facility and the greatest coaches. Rage has been my second home for the last four years. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Carmi, Stacie and Robert, Toa and Maggie, and Nicole and Cam. Each of you has had a special place in my journey. Coach Carl you are one in a million, and I’m so happy you are still a part of my life. Coach Greg, thank you for the extra reps and all the advice over the last few months!

Last, but certainly not least, to Garren Allala. I don’t know that I will ever be able to put into words what you mean to me. We have spent countless hours in the gym talking platforms, angles, footwork, and strategy. I am the libero I am today because of you.
