This is an oversimplified expression of what this journey entails. It’s simply a relationship with the world around you. This shadow work functions by shining the light of awareness upon your own interpretation of the universe you live within. Whether it be in people, animals, experiences or the environment you move through. The way your brain perceives it all, is telling of the world you’ve been handed to understand. Whether it be through environmental and familial conditioning, or through the jagged edges of life’s harsh lessons that have left open wounds, we are always perceiving through a lens uniquely crafted throughout the years of our life. This lens is neither ugly nor beautiful. It is just a lens. We are able to remove it through the consistent practice of conscious awareness. By acknowledging when the lens is perceiving for us, rather than the soulful awareness behind our thoughts, we are then able to use our acknowledgment to dismantle the lens. The dismantling process is different for everyone and to all unique circumstances. It can be facing one’s own darkness, recognizing a sense of justice clarifying our values, or perhaps noting what has been passed down and finally questioning its truth. The layers of its complexity will vary, but the truth remains the same: the journey is within us. We may walk it curiously and open heartedly to set ourselves free of the mental constraints painting our life in colors we do not want or have not chosen for ourselves. Or we may keep it as is, content with the projections of the world and people we see.

This was too cool not to share. So many messengers in nature today. And what a magickal, transformative day it’s been. Giving thanks 🖤 #fehu#rune

Her heart is a chamber of secrets
Stories your ears will never hear
Have you not seen the way
Her body surrenders to the moon?
How the ocean lives beneath her skin?
Stars take home in her eyes
For she embodies the very darkness
We all once lived within
A place where everything is nothing
Only to be born again

grace inbetween chapters ~
my heart is heavy and it has been. In the past two years I’ve lost everything that meant anything to me, and now I stand at the threshold of my death. Metaphorically, of course. I wrote this years ago, and it still holds true.
Life has been a constant cycle of death and rebirth, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon, but what I hope does change is my approach to death. Hence the heart of this journal.
More grace.
More acceptance.
More trust.
It’s all going to be okay.
Someway. Somehow.

A full proof method when self shooting is a good ol tripod and recording on cinematic mode. Usually on 2x zoom, but this one was 1x. I don’t really share a lot about my marketing work as I’m still exploring my eye and how to bring that into professional fields. This was done for the cafe I work at as a social media manager, event coordinator and barista. I’m learning more and more by the day. Today, I had a small vision in mind and no model to use for the shoot, so I stepped in and actually liked the way these turned out. ✨ and yes, this was done on an iPhone ~ my Nikon has been out of commission for a minute now, but a canon is def on my wishlist for the future!

Sampled memories
Soft spoken dreams
In the promise of tomorrow

Whatever flowers grown
In the slumber of my heat
Rage against a storm
I was never prepared to weep
