As the outdoor industry evolves, so must the programs training its future workforce. This session brings together the educators behind Mid Michigan College's Hunting and Angling Studies Program to discuss how academic programs are adapting to prepare students for careers in hunting, fishing, and outdoor content creation. Panelists will share what it takes to build and run these programs, the skills employers are looking for now, and where student demand and industry needs are headed next in a shifting outdoor workforce.

Leading the conversation:

JJ Mertz, Professor, @midmichcollege. Founded the Expedition Hunting and Angling Scholars (HAS) Program, connecting students' passions with outdoor industry careers.

Jason Brown, Executive Producer & Co-Founder, @officialrustedrooster and The Keefer Brothers. Two and a half decades producing off-grid and remote wilderness projects, now an adjunct instructor for the Hunting and Angling Scholars program.

Marc Mankowski, Instructor and Program Coordinator for Hunting and Angling Studies and Criminal Justice Programs at Mid Michigan College. Also serving as a Conservation Officer for @michigandnr.

Join us at Four Suns Farm Lavender on Wednesday, September 9th at 7 PM for the final installment of the Mid Michigan College Summer Wellness Series. It will be a beautiful evening of Yin Yoga.

Begin with a gentle introduction to lavender in our Lavender 101, then slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with your body in this beginner-friendly Yin Yoga class at Four Suns Farm. Held under our Lavender Pavilion, this workshop blends gentle, long-held poses with the calming sights and scents of the farm. It’s the perfect way to relax, release tension, and enjoy a mindful moment surrounded by nature.

This class is open to all experience levels, and no prior yoga practice is necessary. Mats, blankets, bolsters, and blocks are provided, though you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Participants will be guided through poses with careful instruction, focusing on relaxation, flexibility, and mindful awareness. To extend the experience beyond the mat, each participant will take home a lavender spray at the end of class.

This is an evening of yoga you do not want to miss.

For this class, register at eventbrite.com
