The sun and warmth seemed to be purposely eluding us but Spring had its moments and we made the most of it.
I love it when people visit. Having @midoriontherocks and #morerob come stay with me in May and now Mom, it brings me so much joy to share my life here with people I care about.
Took Mom with an amazing crew of some of my favourite people to Dover Island this week and it was so special. She totally took it all in, loved watching us climb, "ooh-ing" and "aww-ing". She would wander
off to watch the waves and take photos of little plants she liked. As we walked together along the island, she would take my arm, smiling, with tears in her eyes, and pat me on the back in a moment of approval, appreciation, and grief. "Dad would love it here".
It's cool to think I can share my life and moments with people who aren't here anymore too.

I've never been to Europe. Why did I never go to Europe? I absolutely hated history in high school and I think by some strange logic, had something to do with a mild resistance in travelling there. What an idiot. What a fool I've been.
Spain was incredible. Life changing.
Any country where they cherish the crispy rice at the bottom of the pan and have a word for it, is a winner in my books.
"Socarrat" for those who care.
"Okoge" in Japanese.

Saw a photo of this climb and knew I wanted to climb it. I rolled up to it tired and PMSing HARD. It took me ages to get my head into it and after little progress on it, I insisted the rest of my crew move on and I stayed behind with some strangers. For hours I sieged on it, rapid firing and trying a bunch of betas. Eventually I unlocked my crux move and got a few high points but couldn't pull it off.

Satisfied with my progress, I joined the others. I ate cured meats and cheese and pet the best crag cat. Happy to leave it at that.

Thankfully, the homies weren't happy to leave it at that and insisted we go back for a hail Mary go at the end of the day.
I rolled back up to find a cool looking crew of smoking, punk, anarchist type looking Spanish men on it and asked if I can work in. Freakin' did it first go!
It felt amazing. So so so good. Like a perfect moment in climbing.

Psyched @grahamfread and @t7davis were able to capture the moment. I will cherish this one for a while. 🥰

Over the years

Ah 2025. The year my bicep decided to try to explode. Lost a lot of days this year to injury. And while my season wasn't spectacular performance wise, I'm grateful to everyone I climbed with this year! As you can see it's still hard to find those good rope friends so hit me up this year to get on those sport projects! For every rope held, pad moved, snack shared and beta helped, thanks to all the peeps last year. Here's to no more injuries and lots more fun!

Also tagging was being a bitch - but y'all know who you are!
