Children's Sculpture trail @midwalesarts

Last week I spent hours walking through the woodland near Midwales Art Center, discovering fantastic art - children's sculptures created during their cources at the Art Center. Magic, beauty and joy!
Kids are the very best artists!

Purple Winter Roses, Mixed Media Mosaic Wall Decoration, size: 8” square, £245

Currently being exhibited at Mid Wales Arts Centre in their Winter Exhibition which opens this weekend with their Preview on Sunday 18 October, 3-5pm. The exhibition will run through to Christmas, open Wednesdays to Saturdays, 10am – 4pm.

I have a beautiful purple rose bush in my garden and this piece reflects the depth of the colour of the roses and the delight I take in seeing the blackbirds hopping around it. The piece is made with recycled china and glass, and mosaic tiles and beads.

Size: 8” square. It is “framed” by watery blue and grey glass mosaic tiles around the edge and is fitted with picture hanging fittings. £245.

If you'd like to see more of my mosaics, please visit my website: www.deliataylorbrookstudio.co.uk. You can contact me through the website contact link or email me at studio@deliataylorbrookstudio.co.uk, tel: 07899 891992.

Mosaic Workshop at Mid Wales Arts Centre this weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed leading a small group of people to create their own unique mosaic piece.

Here is a beautiful sun image produced by one of the students. It is ungrouted and yet to be fully cleaned up, but Helen has produced a beautiful tile with great colours intended for her garden.

Here's what some of the participants said:
Individual tuition was excellent and not intrusive.
I'm feeling more confident to do mosaics by myself.
Inspired!

I am running another Mosaic Workshop on Saturday 28 November 10am-4pm at Mid Wales Arts Centre.

Would you like to learn the skills of this ancient art? I will show you how to create a beautiful mosaic piece either on a flat or curved surface. There will be a theme of Christmas but you can create anything you want.

There will be mosaic tiles, ceramics, glass and beads available but please bring along any cherished or chipped china, beads, jewellery, stones or shells that you wish to include in your design and learn how to create a new work of art. Bring a design if you wish or guidance is available on the day.

Enquiries and bookings please contact Mid Wales Arts Centre
01686 688369 office@midwalesarts.org.uk or you can contact me for more information on studio@deliataylorbrookstudio.co.uk, tel: 07899 891992, www.deliataylorbrookstudio.co.uk.

Partridge In A Pear Tree I, Mixed Media Mosaic Wall Decoration £345

Currently being exhibited at Mid Wales Arts Centre in their Winter Exhibition which opens on 18 October and runs through to Christmas.

As we’re approach Christmas and delighting in the fruit trees in my garden, I felt inspired to take one of the themes of the Twelve Days of Christmas by making this colourful wall decoration. I particularly enjoyed selecting the patterns from my stock of charity shop china to represent the partridge; and the yellows, golds and soft greens describe the pears. The background blues are recycled glass bowls.

Size: 11.5” square. This piece is “framed” by blue mosaic tiles around the edge and is fitted with picture hanging fittings.

If you'd like to see more of my mosaics, please visit my website: www.deliataylorbrookstudio.co.uk. You can contact me through the website contact link or email me at studio@deliataylorbrookstudio.co.uk, tel: 07899 891992.

One of my seascape abstracts sold last week — actually, two did!

This one was sold as part of a stunning triptych via @artvogueuk. I took the original photograph on Borth beach in West Wales, just outside my old university town of Aberystwyth, as the sun was setting over the Irish Sea. Using intentional camera movement, I turned the sea, sky and sunset into something that sits somewhere between a photograph and a painting.

Art Vogue are currently selling a selection of my abstract seascapes and travel photography as wall art, including work for hotels, restaurants and other interiors.

Fancy one on your wall? Have a look at the abstracts on my website or contact Art Vogue direct.
