one of the first gifts I remember getting was a little leather burgundy purse, from my Nana, when I was just 8 years old. that must have started me on my path of being a PURSE LADY ...

a few years ago, my bestie @mightyfillmores brought this leather beauty back from Italy for me.
more than the beautiful workmanship was that my best sister friend knew me well enough to buy the perfect purse. it was the UNEXPECTEDNESS too.

I save it for special occasions and outings.

my Nana used to change her purse out for all her seasons. she was a great gift giver and a gift in my life.

I am definitely of the age of getting and giving less stuff, and instead of having more experiences, but today when I changed out my purse, I remembered the feeling of the unexpected gift.

YEARS AGO WE STARTED an October tradition at Gardner Village. This year it needed to happen in September.

I love these women.
I love that we can talk, dance, laugh and cry.

For so many years I have wanted to go to @valtersosteria with Shawna. Tonight was the night. We celebrated her birthday with the most glorious food and service. When you can't go to Italy go to Valters.

Trying to put words, in a post, about what speaking on the topic of 'HEALING IN FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS' is like is like trying to gather up all the glitter thrown in the air.

The praying. The fasting. The tears. The wrestle. The vulnerability. The edits. The miracle. It was all of that and more.

I heard stories, from those in the room, that God showed me before I had met them.

I loved presenting such a sensitive topic with the brilliant @brogoodman

You can NEVER GO WRONG with these ladies...
It is always perfect medicine to be together and laugh in the theater.

We celebrated Clare's birthday early (because my girl will be on her study abroad then) ...
Can't believe how grown up our girls have gotten.

My tribe is small. You aren't going see a ton of girls trips or girls night out pics on my feed with a big group. The list is small and cherished and trusted.

These women are on that list.

Our daughters talked today at brunch about having great moms that weren't perfect but they are so grateful for.

I waited a long time be a mom. I waited a long time to find a trusted sister friend. They were worth the wait.

Now watching our girls grow up to be the women we want to have lunch with, is a gift. It's a dream come true.

Things are changing for our girls. They are women creating their own lives having their own grand adventures.

So I have a lot of feelings and thoughts these days. Here are a few of them:

I am in awe of women, daughters, mothers, and sister friends. I am in awe of the power of women.

In a world where scandal and war finds us daily - I am grateful for brunch with women I adore.

I had an unkind DM asking why I am sharing this colonoscopy process. TRUTH is I have been really nervous - even scared - to do a colonoscopy.

So I wanted to share the real life experience I had to inspire others to not wait. I am sensitive to anesthesia and so that made me scared. I had heard about the prep. That made me scared.

Dr. Oaks at @grangermedicalclinic WAS INCREDIBLE.
THE SURGICAL TEAM AT UTAH SURGICAL CENTER
were angels. Everything was clear. A few things from having babies but my babies were worth it.

Thank you @mightyfillmores @linn.allen for your loving push.

Thanks to my sweet @robertcondie for filling out paper work, listening to my fears, getting prescriptions, driving and being with me today.

I got a blessing before the procedure and it said I would feel love surrounding me during the procedure. AND I DID - FROM TOTAL STRANGERS.

Moral of the story to the mean DMs I got about posting.... A COLONOSCOPY can save your life. I was scared and I did it. @amylynn188 I did it for you 🫶

I may post more about the back story later... but not now.

Until then I am sharing, in real time what scripture I needed. I needed the reminder that God fights for me.

And you need a friend that sometimes wants to burn the house down and they let you cry.

If you are hurting... this post is for you.
You have a big God.

Today @mightyfillmores and I celebrated my birthday. We are the worst at taking pictures when we are together. But we are great about being present for each other. I am so grateful for the love of this sister friendship. I can say all the things, show up all the ways. We have started businesses together, raised kids together, and turned 55 together.

LESSONS FROM A FUNERAL 🫶 going to a funeral is a gift - today we showed up to support our friend Andrea for the celebration of her mother in law's life.

1. a mother's love is powerful.
2. music solves a lot of problems.
3. everyone will have their own stories about our lives, God knows what happened from all perspectives.
4. family - faith - friendship is really what life is about.
5. Jesus gives us hope and healing even when hearts are broken.

Last but not least... I want to thank the women that have had the long conversations, sometimes over and over again, with me this year.

The healing that happens when you sit with friends, say all the things, feel all the feelings, and try to make sense of the world is something I don't take for granted.

To the WOMEN... I applaud you.
You are magic.
