It was a foggy one this morning. One of the best parts of duck hunting is getting to share it with someone who’s just getting started. Roman is still fairly new to chasing ducks, so it was pretty fun to get him on a few birds.

We all remember those early hunts when everything was new and every flock of ducks got you excited. Safe to say he's hooked. Although I probably should’ve warned him how expensive this little hobby can get.

Starting with a bang. We had to work for them this year which was a little surprising. More water than ive ever seen on the ppr in person, hatch from all accounts were great. But the birds were super concentrated. When we found em though, we found em. Videos are 🔥 Great group to chase ducks on the prairie with. Glad i got to experience the joys of chasing ducks freely before you cant. #whatpressure

Some day I will talk about the chat outside the hotel in Memphis with @_chasinggreen_ @migrationwaterfowl @northamericanwaterfowlshow and @duckgunchronicles .

Someday I will talk about what happened the next morning with @uthunt @marinodecoys @tektongamecalls but that will be a conversation for another time.

I am on a journey, and one that has been pretty cool so far, and it started because I was asked “Are You A Believer?

This is your reminder to do the hard stuff sometimes... Our week in North Dakota was tough, yet pretty amazing 🦆🦆🦆 Wouldn't have it any other way.

“The magic visitation of ducks from the sky to a set of bobbing blocks holds more of beauty and heart-pounding thrill than I have ever experienced afield with rod or gun.” — Gordon MacQuarrie

Post-hunt afternoons usually mean a good book, a good whiskey, and some old decoys. These old “blocks” carry memories and stories themselves. Every mark, chip, and scratch was earned somewhere.

I share my favorite quotes out of an appreciation for the history and beauty of waterfowling and upland hunting, I hope it helps others find it too.
