A lot of actors think that when you get fancy credits your career is suddenly a walk in the park... 🚶🏽‍♀️‍➡️🌳 🕊️ Sorry to rain on your parade. ☔️ 💧

My guest on the podcast, Migs Govea, has a ton of enviable credits:

Recurring on CBS’s FBI: Most Wanted

Opposite Julia Garner (2x!) – Netflix’s Inventing Anna & Sundance’s The Assistant.

Opposite Ed Norton in Motherless Brooklyn

Opposite Anne Hathaway & Helena Bonham Carter in Ocean’s 8

On Broadway in A Man for All Seasons with 2x Tony Award-Winner Frank Langella & Succession’s Emmy Award-Winner Jeremy Strong

…and it would be reeeeeeeeally easy to say “Oh, look at him, his career is SET, he’s got it made!”💅🏻

But then you’d miss out on the steps he took to make each of those dream credits into incredible realities.💪🏼

Migs gives us a full backstage pass 🎟️ into his mindset and the ups-&-downs that brought him to move his successful NYC career across the country.

🚚 And if you’ve EVER considered moving to Los Angeles (or ANY new acting market!) 👉 CLICK 🔗 in BIO to LISTEN NOW

Here are just a few of the great takeaways:

📆 There is never a perfect time to reach out to reps

🚫 A target list is the worst strategy you can use to find the right match

👯‍♂️ Let go of these 3 things you cannot control so you can be confident in your meetings and find the best match

❤️ You are enough – no matter how many credits you have!

I just can’t wait for you to see yourself in his story ← you have hella more in common than you might think!

Terminal Uniqueness is the belief that you are fundamentally different from everyone else and that you cannot possibly experience the same success as others cuz there’s no way it will work out for you. 👈 If that’s you, break the cycle of feeling left out of the big leagues. ⚾️ ← Is the World Series coming up soon? (I don’t do sports, so lemme know).

I am lucky to have the team that I do, which you are able to peep in this video.
As the company grows, multiple events are booked per night which in turn, allows me to send these beauties in my place.
I still personally book, coordinate and prep every single one, I just have the crew to help execute them all. It's an ever-growing team of industry pros and general pals.

13 years ago @maskmartin asked us to try out playing at @apothekenyc. Since then, we’ve generally been there every Sunday. Crazy. Such a looong gig! We simply couldn’t have lasted that long if it wasn’t for the incredible staff throughout the years, and the constant stream of cool/chill people coming through. The vibe inside was spot on.
***
Of course last week was the last LF gig there on the regular :( **HOWEVER starting in 2019 our buddy @trax1012 graciously came every Sunday to monitor levels and help record, and this continued every week until March 2020. Today we’re proud to release “Live at Apotheke”! These were edits made over a years playing. Mixed by Live Footage and mixed/mastered by @nolanthies .
**
Put this on and remember the times you were there with us! Available on all the platforms and available to buy digitally on bandcamp. Stay tuned about more hand made limited edition cassettes! Drop us a comment if you’d be interested in that!

After nearly a year of on and off filming to accommodate the pandemic, we wrapped filming on The Veteran. Thanks all, we're in the edit.
