The multidisciplinary work of Miguel Cárdenas—born in Bogotá in 1973 and active in both Colombia and New York—manifests through various media with a distinct theatrical quality that evokes what lies beneath our consciousness. His imagery defies the labels and classifications of art history, evolving into surreal universes that explore the tensions between the monumental and the intimate, as well as between recovered histories and speculative futures.

With his intervention titled Estrella Fugaz (Shooting Star) at Galería Elvira Moreno, Cárdenas presents an immersive, site-specific work accompanied by various paintings and sculptures. Through a monochromatic mural and an intimate choreography, the installation reflects on a sense of wonder and the ephemeral yet persistent facets of desire, contributing new contemporary narratives to the tradition of muralism.
