RAD on air.

Last Friday, Catinca Tabacaru (co-founder RAD) and Anda Zota (co-founder AÉ02 Studio) joined Mihaela Dedeoglu at RFI Radio to talk about where RAD is heading for 2026. What started as a conversation about the fair, quickly opened up into a broader reflection on how the Romanian art market has evolved, what it really takes to build this kind of fair locally, and some insights on this year’s RAD Pavilion that grows out as a structure that is shaping how art is experienced

We are delighted to announce that, with the finissage of Pain of the Shoe: (In)visible Fragments, we are officially launching the 2nd edition of the 𝐄𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐕𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬. The jury of this edition—Liviana Dan, Mihaela Dedeoglu, and Norbert Filep—has selected the winners, and a new award has been created by the artist Radu Pandele.

Join us at the award ceremony, this Saturday, 5 PM at Mezanin, Palatul Universul to celebrate the closing of the first edition and to welcome the three emerging artists who will be the winners of P.E.V.A. 2025.

……………………….
𝐏.𝐄.𝐕.𝐀. is Romania’s first long-term initiative exclusively dedicated to young female artists. The second edition presents three new winners, selected from the 2024 edition of the DIPLOMA Festival, graduates from the Painting and Graphic Arts Departments, who will be announced during the 𝐄𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐕𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 ceremony.

Each award includes financial support, a one-year studio residency, and the opportunity to present an exhibition organized by Mobius Gallery.

𝐏.𝐄.𝐕.𝐀. aims to foster the development of emerging female voices, providing them with opportunities and resources to expand their creative potential and contribute to the growth of the contemporary art scene, while honoring and preserving the legacy of Ecaterina Vrana, a key figure in post-1989 Romanian art.

Supported by: UniCredit Bank
With the support of: Vodafone Romania

Happy to share our second video, part of the P.E.V.A. Talks series, with one of this year’s jury members, Mihaela Dedeoglu (@mihaeladedeoglu ).

P.E.V.A. Talks aims to bring together the voices of established female artists from today’s Romanian art scene, highlighting both their presence and the strength they carry. Through their insights, we hope to offer support and visibility to newer generations of artists who are still shaping their path. Because the award is dedicated to emerging female voices, we believe that guidance, solidarity and encouragement remain essential elements in any artist’s journey. With this initiative, we seek to open a genuine channel of communication between generations and to build a bridge rooted in support, shared wisdom and a deep commitment to art.
