Meet Dean; an inspiring human we’re proud to have as part of the Legion family. His positivity, humility, love for life, and belief that age is never an excuse to stop learning make him a true inspiration on and off the mats. ❤️‍🔥

All this ADCC stuff got me pumped. I took these photos at ADCC 2019 when I blagged myself a media pass. I made the most of it by renting a decent telephoto and snapping these pictures. Last one is controversial but I included it because it’s one of the best pics I’ve ever taken.

Who is Miha Perhavec? 🥋 Miha is Keenan Cornelius’ first Black belt, a co-founder of Legion American Jiu-Jitsu, and the 🧠 behind our 5-Week Beginner Course. He’s currently a black belt in both Judo and Jiu-Jitsu and plays a key role in coaching and developing @legion_ajj students. “I think the hardest thing is just making yourself get up and go to class. Once I go to class, I’m always really glad that I went.” - Elaine Wynn

“[T]hat’s the fun part, the never-ending learning process through Jiu Jitsu.” - Robert Davenport

“How many people don’t do the thing that they want to do because they’re afraid to do it, so they don’t even try in the beginning. There’s something to just doing it, because so many people just don’t do it. And this is not [just] Jiu Jitsu, this is everything.” - Nick Albin @chewjitsu

“Frustration is part of the process of learning and also achieving greatness.” - Rodrigo Antunes @rodrigoantunesbjj

“…Always focus on what you can do, what is in your control.” - Nattie Boss @nattiebossrd

“[Martial arts] is about learning a life skill, it’s about struggling, it’s about discipline, it’s about doing what it takes, and doing something difficult.” - Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro @xanderibeirojj

“I think the first plateau people hit is blue belt… That's not going to be the last one. That will be the first one. But you’re going to have other plateaus in your Jiu Jitsu life. Just pass through, like everything in life. You’re not going to quit anything just because you couldn’t do it that time. You’ve got to keep practicing, keep going. There will be a lot of times you say, ‘Why am I here?’ But later, you’re only going to say, ‘I’m glad I’m here.’ That’s the goal.” - Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa @rafael_formiga

“[T]wo of the biggest things that you get out of doing Jiu Jitsu for a long time is:( (1) How you handle yourself under pressure, and (2) You are mindful when you do Jiu Jitsu.” - Miha Perhavec @mihajj

“…I really encourage Jiu Jitsu because it brings people together, and it forces you to be mindful.” - Michael Cragholm @spacecoastmobilejiujitsu

“Your mind has to be able to adapt to different ways of thinking. That’s the power of Jiu Jitsu. And then you can use the bo

Royal Navy BJJ Interservice Champions 2026 🦈🇬🇧

Congratulations to the members of the Royal Navy BJJ Team who defended the Interservice Championship today against @british_army_bjj and @raf.martial.arts, ensuring a back to back win, as the top Military BJJ Team for two years running.

The Navy Team won by a clear 100 points. Unbelievable performances today from everyone across both Gi and NoGi disciplines.

Thank you to everyone who committed their time to compete and ensure the victory. And thank you to the RAF for hosting the competition.

The trajectory BJJ has taken in the Royal Navy is unprecedented. And there are no signs of slowing down.

See you on the mats

💪🏼🤙🏼🦈
