Had a great time with this Degas inspired photoshoot recently. It’s easy to get in the grind of work and life so doing these projects for the sake of creating and learning is so important to me. Thank you so much to @karins.garden for your collaboration and designing these gorgeous flower headpieces. Thank you to my Degas dancers @mija_ab and @sienna.lynh, your ethereal movement quality was just what this photoshoot needed ☺️

some sessions just stay with you… and this was one of them.

Back on December 15, 2019, I had the privilege of photographing this incredible couple. At the time they were already phenomenal athletes, and today they’re not only married, but also the proud owners of two dance schools, inspiring the next generation of dancers every single day.

These images became my favorite photographs of that entire year—not just because of their strength and artistry, but because of the kind of people they are. True professionals, incredible athletes, and genuinely wonderful humans.

It was an absolute pleasure working with them and capturing a moment in their journey together.

Ice arts started with the goal of collaboration with all art forms.

We are so thrilled to announce for our first show we have a collaboration with @flight_feathers_ballet

We are very lucky to have @mija_ab dancing in our show.

Mija started dancing at the age of six in Hiroshima, Japan. It was not long until she fell in love with ballet and went on to perform title roles in Cinderella, Firebird, Giselle, Paquita, and more. Teaching has been her passion for the last 12 years and she has taught and directed shows in various dance schools throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as Tokyo and Kanagawa, Japan. In May of 2021, she decided to create her own school/company, and opened Flight Feathers Ballet.

Come enjoy her beautiful dancing on Sat Aug 30th! Info for tickets in the bio!

I recently saw something along the lines of— “don’t overthink it, don’t think you have to outdo yourself, just create art.” That really resonated with me. I know that is the artist I have always been, the way I want to put art into the world. I just need to be reminded sometimes when I feel I’m losing my way.

I previously shared photos from this roll of film which I loved so much. Finally sharing more because really I loved every single photo captured and it’s the reminder of the magic that happens when I don’t overthink it and just ✨create✨
