📽️✨ Honored to have been part of this powerful short docu series this Black History Month, focusing on reclaiming and reframing the narrative around Black fatherhood. This project is so close to my heart. It dives deep into the truth, challenging stereotypes that have overshadowed the love, strength, and commitment of Black fathers for far too long.

Taking part and hearing stories from men who redefine resilience and pride in fatherhood every single day. These are fathers who are present, nurturing, and deeply committed to guiding the next generation. Their stories are a reminder that Black fatherhood isn’t what mainstream stereotypes suggest—it’s a powerful legacy of love, endurance, and breaking cycles.

Being part of this was a reminder of the importance of reclaiming our narratives and amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. Black history isn’t just about the past—it’s about the stories of strength and perseverance happening right now and the future. I’m so grateful to have helped bring this vision to life and to celebrate Black fathers as the role models they are. ✊🏾❤️ #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackFatherhood #ReclaimingOurStories #DocumentaryJourney #RepresentationMatters Links in Bio

Originally from Nigeria, Mijahor, a.k.a Mij, moved to the UK at age seven. Growing up in Manchester, Mij was surrounded by a close-knit community of fellow Nigerians but he also had to deal with racism and prejudice.
Mij’s own father was a provider, successfully guiding him into adulthood. And now Mij is a new young dad, navigating fatherhood for the first time. Mij sees the beauty in the small moments: watching his son, Elijah, get into football, growing out his hair and playing with Mij’s drone together.
Mij is hugely affectionate with his son, a trait he never expected from himself before becoming a dad.

Having founded the youth-advocacy and anti-violence organisation, Gangs Unite CIC, Colin’s main focus has been using his lived experience to help young people from falling into a life of violence.
As a little boy, he promised himself he would never leave his own children. He’s stuck to his promise and is a proud dad of four and a granddad of two.
