Years ago, I used to listen to House of the Rising Sun without ever thinking that one day I’d actually live in the city it talks about.And somehow, I ended up here.

Five years ago, I came to New Orleans from so far away, completely on my own, with not much more than a desire to learn. I wanted to work, roll some croissants,explore, get better at pastry, and see where life would take me.

I had no idea how much this place would become a part of me.

I got to know myself here. I grew here, made mistakes here, changed, figured things out along the way, and had plenty of moments when I questioned what I was doing. But when I look back, what I remember most are all the beautiful moments the people, the kitchens, the little everyday things, and all the memories that made me feel so lucky to be here.

Im so grateful for the people I met, the kitchens I worked in, everything I learned, everything I shared, and all the little moments in between , thank you.

New Orleans will always be a very special part of my story🧡

And to King Cake season… thank you for the memories. Please never contact me again🤝

More from my heart💞all of these moments hold practice, presence, joy, nourishment, and pausing. With loved ones in nature, with the bugs, the breeze and the sun.

Near the waters of the Mississippi River and Lake Ponchartrain, Playa Negra in Costa Rica, and Playa La Ventana in Mexico…I have a bank of videos, pictures and snippets of life and I’m scrolling through them lovingly. They have me minding and remembering and wondering about how I’ve changed and am changing and what things about myself have stayed the same?

That double rainbow capture was after a gorgeous rain storm in Montgomery, Alabama with a dear beloved. The food spread was another feast lovingly prepared by @stuffedaburage and the first time I had moon cake🌙

I’m sitting in reflection on this New Moon. And I’m also thinking about how I’m ready to teach again. Would you join me? 🌊✨🌻✨🌈

Well, damn. A month done came and went. I still wanna share all these moments with y’all. They were truly so sweet. And they’re amidst little bit of chaos with a little bit of overwhelm, and maybe a little too much biking thru the city in carnival but still, I’m so grateful for the flow. All these connections at different intersections on this land that holds me, woo’s me, watches out for me and amazes me still.

Thank you. I love each of you and so happy I get to and got to hug you🌈✨💞💛✨🌊
