Graduation day.

5/9/26: The end of such a beautiful, challenging, unforgettable chapter at East Tennessee State University and within the ETSU Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program.

Over the last 3 years, this program has pushed me and helped me grow into the person I am today. There were moments of doubt, but I pushed through and learned so much. I value my time spent with these people who helped make it all possible.

To ETSU OTD: thank you for giving me a place to grow, learn, and become part of something so meaningful. Thank you to every professor, mentor, clinical instructor, content expert, and staff who encouraged me and believed in me throughout this journey.

To my friends and cohort: thank you for being my chosen family. Thank you for the study sessions,, laughs, memories, and support. I truly could not have made it through these years without these people beside me.

To my fiancée, thank you for loving me through every version of myself during this journey. Thank you for being so patient, listening to every rant, celebrating every win, and encouraging me every day. Thank you for standing beside me through the uncertainty, the tears, and the joy.

To my family, thank you for every sacrifice, every prayer, every encouraging phone call, every shoulder to lean on, and every moment you believed in me, even when I struggled to believe in myself. This accomplishment belongs to all of us.

To my mom, there are not enough words to thank the woman who paved the way for this to be possible and stood beside me through every season of this academic journey. Thank you for every sacrifice you made, every time you encouraged me when I felt defeated, every prayer, every phone call, every hug, and every moment you reminded me to keep going. You carried me through some of the hardest moments of my life and never stopped believing in me, even when I doubted myself. I hope today honors every ounce of love, strength, and support you poured into me.

The best is yet to come. Thank you for everything, ETSU.

Dear Sigma Kappa,

Thank you for all the memories and the incredible people I’ve met along the way. You’ve taught me so much about leadership, kindness, and what true friendship really means. From serving as Wellness Chair, to Vice President of New Member Education, to President, you have truly shaped my college experience in the best way.

I will love you forever. OHOW 💜

That’s a wrap.

Dear Sigma Kappa,

Thank you for teaching me the principles of strong character: integrity, courage, self-control, responsibility, loyalty, humility, empathy, compassion, curiosity, resilience, and service to others. Thank you for providing me with a national network of inspiring women as role models and a local family to call home. Thank you for encouraging me to always strive to be better and do more. Thank you for pushing me to be an advocate for the betterment of my community and an active member of service. Thank you for giving me the strength to defend and support those who fall through the cracks and most importantly are human first. Thank you for teaching me to live with heart. Most importantly thank you for teaching me the power of unconditional love. Regardless of adversity, challenge, conflict, disagreement, or difference this sisterhood has challenged me to regard a group of over 100 women as true sisters, regardless of blood, and now as I enter a new chapter as an alumna that number has multiplied and I couldn’t be prouder.

To my Gamma Lambda sisters I love you ALL dearly regardless of how sparse our interactions may have been. I always have an open ear, an open heart, and an open mind so please reach out if you need someone.
OHOW,
-Hailey Komoroski
