📸 @mike.hamar
l o s t in expectations...
Everyone keeps telling me: “You’re a boy wear blue”, even though I like pink.
“Go to sleep already!” even though I’d rather stay awake.
“Don’t wear nail polish; that’s only for girls!” even though colors are for everyone.
“Don’t act like that!” “Don’t do that!” … Grown-ups say boundaries are important and I do understand that, at least partly but could someone, please, just say to me: “I love you! It’s perfectly okay to be angry! You are wonderful, just the way you are!”? … Everyone always wants me to be exactly the way they want me to be. Why don’t they try changing themselves for a change?!

For me, a good photograph allows my eyes to wander about; I enjoy noticing more detail as I stay with the photograph. I enjoy seeing something presented in a way that might make me laugh, maybe something that makes me sad. I enjoy a photograph the makes me pause and think: “How did this photographer SEE this?”. All photographs present reality, something that was already there, we just didn’t see it at first.
