Our favorite Libra is nine!

He had a very specific way he wanted to be celebrated, and we met the brief.

Max is the sweetest, most genuine, goofy, high-key genius boy. He is unapologetically himself, doesn't care what any of us think about it, and is still quick to check anyone gracefully when a boundary is crossed.

I love you deeply, my guy. So glad you made me your mom.

Referred to by the organizers of Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival as simply "a local novelty," Fleetwood Snack has the capacity to leave listeners at a loss for words. Fair enough. There likely are no words to adequately describe the controlled chaos of Fleetwood Snack's mind-warping take on hardware techno. And yet we try. If industrial techno often evokes the clank and churn of industrial machinery, Fleetwood Snack transports the machinery out of the factory and into the marshland where--still churning away--it grows moss, algae, and slime all over its rusty appendages. This is techno for Jeff Vandermeer's Area X, where all that is human dissolves into the organic sludge of the swamp. Catch Fleetwood Snack live on @wtul with @mike5ive this Thursday night (technically Friday morning) at midnight.

5ive turns 40! I've celebrated 12 birthdays with you, and I've loved you for every single one. It's changed shape and expanded to create space for new characters, but it's just as exciting as it was in the beginning.

I'm thrilled that you're more of a dad-guy than a wife-guy. Watching you with Max & P is the joy of my life. Listening to them tell me how much they love you when you're not around validates every choice.

This year I've been blessed to watch you share your voice, perspective and passion more broadly. You have such unique insights that are meant to be heard and celebrated. I couldn't be more proud and excited for what's to come.

Happy new year, my love. Thank you for doing life with me. I wouldn't have it any other way.
