In 2022 (FOUR entire years ago) I decided last minute to go to @fireflymusicfestival on my own. Obviously I didnt know it would be my last Firefly, but at the time I was fighting a cold, and wasn't super excited about to be attending my 8th or 9th year of the fest in a row. I brought a book to read, Dave Mathews on CD, and fully intended to spend the weekend quietly by myself.

Almost immediately after setting up my campsite, throwing DMB on the speaker and cracking open the cooler, my neighbors came over to invite me to hang at their camp. A long story short, a few dozen "mucho appriciado's" later, and they very kindly decided to adopt me into their crew for the weekend. What followed was one of my favorite festivals of the decade.

Fast forward FOUR years, and I cannot express how much fun it was to have a Firefly reunion with @natalie_wilson444 and all of her incredible friends at Submersion this year. If you know me, you know this scene is something near and dear to my heart, but its hardly just the music that makes it matter. Its the **people** who form these beautiful little communities of "yes and" and "how can I help?" that keep my heart beating and my feet dancing.

Submersion has something really special going on, its - as is becoming my favorite kind of event to throw - a true family affair. Special thanks to Mr. MIke Jaws for bringing me on for a second year, to all of my friends for making it such an embodied homecoming, and to all the strangers who graced the sand-kissed dancefloors of Paradise Lakes Campground with their presence.

Same time same place next year?

Landsdowne Street was buzzing last night after #Phish at #Fenway, but the real energy was inside @hobhouston at @eggymusic’s ⚡️late-night show.

If you missed #Eggy last night, you’ve got another chance tonight—they’re back at #HouseofBlues after Saturday’s Phish show at #FenwayPark. I’ll see you there.
