Someone close to me at the time once told me I wouldn’t be able to get back to being myself once I had my child. That I wasn’t going to be able to keep up with the training and everything else that comes with being a parent and an athlete.

Of course I didn’t believe any of that nonsense🤪

Nothing fuels me more knowing my daughter is watching me chase my dreams.

I’ll fall 10 times and I will always get right back up, I have little eyes on me ❤️

It’s never just been about the sport. 🥋❤️

It’s about raising my children to understand that true strength isn’t about being the toughest person in the room.

It’s about having discipline when things get hard.
Showing respect when things don’t go your way.
Staying humble when you win.
And finding the courage to get back up when you lose.

As a father, I want my children to understand that Jiu-Jitsu is more than just learning how to fight or earning medals. It’s about learning life lessons that will shape who they become.

Because one day, I won’t always be there to guide them through every challenge. Their coaches won’t always be standing beside them, and their parents won’t always be cheering from the sidelines.

They’ll have to face life’s challenges on their own.

And when that day comes, I hope they carry everything we’ve taught them.

Their discipline. Their respect. Their humility. Their faith. And most importantly, their character.

Because at the end of the day, my greatest accomplishment won’t be the medals they win or the belts they earn.

It will be watching them grow into good people who do the right thing, even when nobody is watching.

Jiu-Jitsu is just the beginning. The lessons are for a lifetime. 🙏🥋
