It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that Grandma's will close at the end of the month, after 13 years of service.

Unfortunately, the building that houses our beloved bar has been sold and we’ve been given our marching orders to make way for a new development.

It all started in 2010 when the small bars license was introduced in Sydney in order to create a more vibrant and diverse night-time economy, by allowing the people like us to open small-scale, intimate drinking establishments where service is at the heart of the drinking experience. It provided our beautiful city with an alternative to the traditional large-scale bars and nightclubs with throw away service that dominated the Sydney's nightlife.

Grandma is proud to have been one of the first to play a part in shaping the Sydney bar culture that it is today. Her legacy will live on in fellow @liquidandlarder venues: @theroversurryhills @bistecca.sydney @thegidley with more to come 👀.

Grandma is proud to have shared our passion for hospitality with the so many of our staff (aka. grandkids) that share the same passion for hospitality. Some have even gone on to open their own amazing bars!

What Grandma is most proud of is playing a part in your memories. Thank you.

Our last night will be on Friday 24 February so between now and then, please come down in the next few weeks to give the old girl a farewell she deserves.

Never forget, there's no place like home... Except Grandma's.

🍹🍹🍹 We'll be sharing your photos over the next few weeks so please DM photos of your favourite memories at Grandma's. We'll show them off, just like a good Grandma does. 🍹🍹🍹
