I don’t even know where to begin about last night’s Farm to Table Chef Dinner with @pachamama_chef Valentina Garcia Montano.

We were QUITE ambitious taking on a full mocktail pairing menu along with an incredible 5-course dinner. That was all for 40 wonderful folks, 90% of whom had not been here to Crown Hill before.

To start, it was a GORGEOUS day to be out on the farm! Our tour was such a joy for me to share: the farm’s history, my personal story, talking about heirloom vegetables, livestock guardian dogs and heritage livestock, delicious food, wellness, gardening and more. The questions were fun and thoughtful and I was delighted by everyone’s curiosity.

And then dinner at our giant long table graced by beautiful glassware by @roaring.spring.home , my vintage dish collection, musical workings of @mikee_strongmen , bright colorful flowers cut @henrysgardens , and of course… a DELICIOUS menu designed and prepared by @pachamama_chef Valentina featuring the freshest of the season here in WNY from Crown Hill and @healingpoemfarmny

Our small team rocked serving five courses and five drinks (that was a total of 200 dishes, 200 glasses and 240 pieces of silverware if you’re counting!) with themes of bright colors and perfect flavors throughout. I think my favorite was the carrots using Huacatay fresh from my garden in 3 different ways.

Most of all I’m so touched by the connections made. Every time I walked up to the table the conversation was lively and mirth palpable. Connecting people that wouldn’t otherwise is my joy and to create a container for that natural unfolding, I feel, is one gift I can bring to the world.

Thank you Helen, Ash, Greg, Valentina, Mikee and mom. Thank you all our guests.

Thank you, thank you. For all of it!

Last night was the close of our 2026 farm dinner season and the 30th (by my count) farm-to-table dinner I’ve hosted here at Crown Hill since 2019. What a way to celebrate!!

I’ve mentioned this is the 10th Anniversary year of my arrival here— #OMG ! So stay tuned for a late October Open Farm Potluck / campfire / cider pressing Celebration!
