POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

On this day in 1999, doubleDrive released their debut album ‘1000 Yard Stare’

Here is a clip of the band performing ‘Tattooed Bruise (Here and There)’ in 2003, the only single from the album, which peaked at no.22 on @billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart

I have finished the last vocal on an album I started in earnest somewhere in 2023 (I think) but has roots dating back to 2014. Only 3 horn parts and a couple synth parts remain before mix down
Took longer than expected. Obstacles include computer aging out and needing to be replaced (2011 model), interface aging out (also 2011 model), my back going out during recording of guitars (couldn’t stand or sit while playing), minor hand injury due to picking up a heavy box (aging sucks), job changes, 2 lay offs, studio issues, to Kemper or not to Kemper?, learn how to Kemper… Sometimes I’d worked at a trickle, sometimes it came in bursts.
Now to think up artwork ideas. I also have 2 all electronic songs waiting in the wings that I may release as stand alone singles in the mean time. I also have 3 other albums of material ready to be recorded. I hope it never ends…

#atlrocdoc @hbombatl @clevelandwillis back on it

Love this dude @brannoncheney
I’ve known and watched Cheney behind the drums for years #wreckroom days , I even lived in the house where one of his first killer studios Brannon Productions later Songbird was ( that’s another documentary)
Successful studio from working with @sevendustofficial to @butchwalker @collectivesoul and all local in between demos to records @officialstuckmojo I believe definitely @officialrichward
@craigmaule countless others

Atl has been good for him , from playing in bands like Blanket Party singer Erik rogers guitar Stephen Seals
Sound Device all while running song bird studios he has managed to play drums in
Cheap thrill @bgibbsmusic & with the late great @jefflabar pictured , to @collectivesoul @johncorabiofficial acoustic record @madisonrecords with Tanner in Like Machine @likemachinesatl and of course back in day with Atlanta band Steep with Joel and @sideshowsmitty

It was great to catch up , it’s family a “what was “ actual original rock music scene long gone but the camaraderie between all of us from back in the day till now an incredible bond !

Great stories as always the fun ,the struggles and the success now tour manger for @collectivesoul Cheney has come full circle not to mention he seems happier and healthier than ever this dude looks great ! Thank you brother 💯

Swipe to see videos from sound device and Cheney playing with collective on Jay Leno

Re recording some tracks with @jesseowenastin for an old tune that was written by @brucebutkovich that RtR played and demoed however now it’s time to make it shine @danielsilvestri doing guitars @jblakeparris tracking bass and of course while @mikefroedge crushes this song live we have Rob Hammersmith drums already on this tune #rocknroll can’t wait to do vocals this week we made the chorus have more melody too , stoked
