Thank you DAVID 🙏

David is a Northbridge legend and his family business @torrebutchers is a @cityofperth institution.

For over 70 years generations of the Torre's have been purveyors of the finest quality meats 🥩 - and brought many thousands of people to Northbridge.

Thank you for your wonderful contribution to our City over many years.

We normally don’t feature frames and framing.
I like to celebrate the Artists who do the work.
This is one job I had to giggle at and show the work and the hideous framing.
A long-time customer and Art collector dropped in a work on paper that was given to him by a friend.
I laughed, as did Mike when we looked at the work.
It turns out the friend is Ben Quilty.
Mike and Ben became friends years ago.
They have remained mates since.
Ben was recently in WA and gave Mike this work on paper.
Mike normally says to me do what you want and let me know when its ready to collect but this time, the instructions on framing were something completely over the top and a piss take.
“Your new King” was fun to do.
An Australian painting of the new King of England framed in a big European styled gold frame with black mounts to echo the dark history of the Royal family.
And who says framing isn’t fun.
As is the watercolour.
I did the right thing too.
I checked with Mike that we could post it and he told me ‘It’s mine… I don’t give a F*** ‘
I checked with Ben and he said ‘Go for it’
Its not often we get to frame a work by the ilk of @benquilty so that was also a little on the cool side of the spectrum.
Knowing about the work that Ben does off the canvas, away from the easel and out of the studio is pretty cool, and that we got to do a BQ is also pretty cool.

A SAFER PERTH...

You keep telling me that’s what you want... but last night another crazy night in Northbridge.

@wa_police declared it out of control.

It’s not their fault, they do a brilliant job but the police need help. We need 200 extra police at the Perth Police Centre in Fitzgerald Street.

You can read my SAFER PERTH and HOMELESS policy here: https://www.basil2020.com.au/blog

COMMUNITY CATCHUP CRAWLEY 💪

Listening and learning from the residents of Crawley and Nedlands.

“We want a Cat Bus 🚌” was the cry @glrzhang and I heard loud and clear table hopping @baysidekitchen this afternoon.

If I am elected Lord Mayor @cityofperth I will work tirelessly to deliver the Cat to Crawley/Nedlands.

COMMUNITY CATCHUP 💪

A great morning with @cityofperth residents at the @theshoeperth listening and learning.

20 year Northbridge business owner and council candidate @mikekeiller joined me as we heard about parking, noise, safety and talked fireworks 🎇

Everywhere I go - there’s one constant, a great passion for Perth and an excitement for the possibilities ahead.

Let’s reboot Perth’s heart 💙

PERTH 🇦🇺🇻🇳🇱🇷🇬🇷

I often say, Perth has been very good to me and my family... and this is my chance to give something back.

It’s one of the reasons why I want to be your Lord Mayor for our @cityofperth.

It’s a story which resonates with so many people I meet - because they, like me, are lucky their families chose Perth to be their new home.

How lucky we are.

I’m for a Perth which celebrates its diversity.
I’m for celebrating how lucky we are to call Perth home.

Who’s with me?
(And where did your family once call home?)
