Weight cutting can make or break a fight performance.

Get it right, and an athlete walks into the cage with a competitive advantage. Get it wrong, and they step in depleted, flat, and already behind before the fight has even started.

An acute weight cut is the transient manipulation of body water and stored glycogen through structured nutritional strategies and thermal exposure — in our case, primarily sauna-based sweating protocols.

* Charlie: 87.7 kg start weight → 79.6 kg scale weight
* Josh: 85.9 kg start weight → 79.4 kg scale weight

Keys to Success:

* Planning and monitoring are everything
* The weight cut should begin 10–12 weeks out, using gradual caloric manipulation to facilitate controlled reductions in body weight
* The acute phase must be strategically prepared, with water loading and reductions in carbohydrates, fibre, and sodium allocated to specific days leading into weigh-ins
* Sweat rate and body weight changes should be closely monitored throughout the cut
* Rehydration and post-weigh-in nutrition should be fully planned in advance, right through to fight night

Open communication. Daily monitoring. Precision execution.

3rd fight and 3rd win for young @abdulx6_ last Sunday. I told him to have a day off but he was back in the gym Monday, back on his running Tuesday. If you wanna be a champion someone's gunna have to force you to have a day off, before you learn the hard way 🤣. Always good seeing lads like Abdul come through from scratch.. through the beginners and on to the fighters class and arranging sessions out of class time. A product of all the coaches at @1stlegiongym

Great 2 days of work up here with Charlie & the rest of the @1stlegiongym boys
Going home with a few more bumps and bruises is always a good sign of hard graft 😅🥊

2 weeks til fight night, tickets still available, drop me a message 👊🏿🖤
