World Cup.
Only one nation lifts the trophy.
Some teams won without dignity. Some lost with the grace of champions. We’ll remember the chaos of the third-place match just as much as the final. The drama. The controversy. As always.
Thirty-nine days have come and gone, but football continues.

Having Mats Hummels(@aussenrist15) with us during the World Cup period reminded me why CSC(@cscnyc) is such a special group. Many people might think we were the ones honored to share the field with him. I like to think the feeling went both ways. As Ádám György(@adamgyorgy) said during the interview, “I was walking by LES. I saw these guys warming up, and I felt the energy.” I have no doubt Mats felt that same energy one morning he stepped out of his hotel lobby—the kind that has kept this club alive for decades.

For nearly twenty years in New York, whenever life became difficult and I thought about moving back to Korea, one thought always stopped me:
“There’s no way I could play soccer three mornings a week anywhere else in the world.”

This film is about CSC—its members and their creative thoughts/stories, and the quiet bond that keeps bringing us back to the same field.

It is one of the most meaningful films I’ve ever made, and my small way of paying tribute to a group that has shaped my life more than words can explain.

There are far too many people to thank individually here. To everyone who shared your stories, your time, your trust, and your love for this club—thank you. And a special thank you to the Rivetti family for their extraordinary generosity and support in helping make this film possible.

TO CLEAR THINGS UP…many people have confused “NOMADIC DISORIENTATION” (a CD promo from 2003 that included a selection of 6 songs I produced, released by the @hm brand in conjunction with an international advertisement campaign that me and 6 other fellow Barnstormers Art Collective members painted & modeled for at the time, thanks to the founder of the collective…my brother @davidellisstudio ). Yess…I am a Visual Artist, not just a DJ and Music Producer. That project had us up on larger-than-life sized Billboards from Times Square to worldwide, and in magazines across the globe. The promo CD release was added as a bonus, showcasing my music talent in addition to my visual art contribution. All the songs were Hip Hop focused & down tempo…including some favorites like “Elevator Music” that I produced for The Unspoken Heard, and “Guilt Junkie” I produced for the one & only Vinia Mojica.

In stalk contrast, “NOMADIC DISCORIENTATION” (emphasis on the DISCO versus DIS), which was recently released this past September on @love.universal.music , is obviously uptempo compared to the songs included on the H&M CD released 22 years earlier. But in most people’s minds, these projects have absolutely nothing to do with each other, so why create confusion with the similar names? For most, it doesn’t make sense, nor do they see the correlation. But actually…there is one, a secret underlying connection. ☯️

Back in 2003, I started working on a beat this one particular day that I never finished. Considering the shear volume of music I was creating at the time, this definitely wasn’t an uncommon occurrence. Often I would start ideas & pick up on them again at a later date.

Fast forward to 2014, I was going through old discs & music sketches I never finished or completed. During that process, I come across that unfinished Hip Hop beat from 2003. I originally did all the music parts using my ASR-10 keyboard. That sound would later become the musical foundation of what would become known as “NOMADIC DISCORIENTATION”. Once I sped up the tempo & programmed all new drums, it worked! So the name acknowledges the connection to its 2003 Hip Hop DNA that literally birthed the song. 💎💥
