Happy last day of Fashion Month!

Spring Summer 2027 felt like fashion remembering how much fun it can be to get dressed.

Across New York, London, Milan and Paris, designers leaned back into sensuality, glamour, excess and personality. Lingerie moved into daylight. Sheer dressing continued its reign as one of the defining trends of the decade. Skirts returned in every imaginable proportion. Sex appeal became louder and more deliberate. Office clothes were corrupted. Opulence stopped apologizing for itself. And the 1980s came back with power shoulders, drama and attitude.

My seven defining trends of SS27:

Lingerie All Day
Sheer Seduction
Skirts, Skirts, Skirts on the Runway
Sex Siren
Opulence, You Own Everything
Business Casual: Corrupted
Serving 80s Dynasty

What tied them together was a rejection of restraint. Fashion is never created on an isolated island, trends repeat and references return, but what matters is what they mean now. For SS27, that meant body, glamour, character and clothes that actually make you feel something.

Dressing up is back, sensuality is not going anywhere, and fashion feels more alive because of it.

Wiederhoeft showed their SS27 collection today during NYFW.

The bride was beautiful. Then she became haunted.

SS27 moved through bridal fantasy, corsetry, lace, silver, ivory, plum and black, slowly corrupting its own innocence without ever losing the romance. What could have become simply “pretty” instead felt emotional, sensual and slightly eerie.

The strongest moments were the ones where bridalwear stopped behaving traditionally: a male body in sheer black lace, ghostlike corsetry, late 90s danger, and gowns that felt somewhere between Westwood, McQueen, Demeulemeester, and Galliano.

I gasped at the eleganza.

Full review now live. Link in bio.
