Went to a lesbian wedding

Went to a lesbian wedding with lesbians

Drove around LA with an elderly foster riding shotgun

Said “oh my god look at the moon she’s so beautiful” many many times

Made sure I got my PT in at the airport & didn’t care about social norms

Fell in love with seasonal fruit

Insisted on joy

Had so much fun working at Electric Forest and getting to create real live magic at the Dream Emporium! Also met so many talented, beautiful, artistic souls🎨🌳 thank you for having us on board!

How blessed to work in this vibrant community, making magical experiences, with my best friends 🐺🐥🦊🦉🐸

This was one of the best Forests I’ve ever had, despite wild weather and long days, I found myself in a small team that was the perfect fit. Supporting a huge team of performers at a massive event like this is no small feat- and apparently it’s a lot of golf cart rides 🚗
We built green rooms, ran snacks and water, saw our friends’ art, communed with nature, carted performers to different spaces, weathered literal storms, watched our troupes shine, participated in their shows, took some dance-with-dinner breaks, broke it all down (and maybe had a couple breakdowns ourselves in the process), made some well-earned hotel room mac and cheese, and remembered that the people are why we do this.
I hopped in to help stage manage @all_fools_ installation, and got to play in the process, & I took my night off to perform with my favorite @kaimera.sky with @redgiantproject.

When I get my most stressed at work, I joke that “it’s just a party”- but this kind of joy is so important. How special it is to work so hard with people you love, supporting each other wholeheartedly to collaborate to create things bigger and wilder and more fantastic than you’ve ever dreamed possible- it reminds us that what we dream of, we have the ability to bring to life.
🌿What could our world become, if we allowed ourselves to envision it in its full beauty?🌿
Thank you @work.wolf and @novahan for bringing me into this tiny yet mighty department, and @mc_grooves for the seamless integration. It’s truly both what you do AND who you do it with- and I’m lucky to love both ❤️🌱

Birthday week went up in flames, but I’m so grateful I chose to commemorate with a hike through our beloved hills before the catastrophe. Some things had to be canceled but care comes first and there is so much love and gratitude moving into this next year of living… Remembering joy and the way this land has nourished us- it’s our turn to care for her now.
Fragments of joy I’m clinging to:
🕊️dancing on a mountain
🌱 old old trees
🍒 getting a mojo back (last year was profoundly unsexy)
💌 surprise packet of handwritten love letters from all over the country
💧 crying and then asking if we’re going to the club now
🧁 making my own birthday cakes (Penang spice with White Coffee icing)
📝 gifting myself a poetry course with @wildflowersareprayers and waking up early to write
🥘 apoca-hot pot (when birthday dinner becomes apocalyptic shelter in place family meal)
🪴 planting native succulents in the wake of destruction
