there’s something so beautiful about worship. not just the music, not just the words, but what happens when we stop focusing on everything around us and turn our attention completely toward God. worship has a way of reminding me that no matter what season i’m in, He is still worthy. when i’m happy, when i’m hurting, when i have answers, and especially when i don’t. some of my favorite moments with God have been in rooms full of people worshiping together. there’s something different about lifting your voice alongside someone else and knowing that, for a moment, you’re both looking toward the same God. you don’t have to have the perfect words or know exactly what to say. sometimes worship is simply showing up and saying, “God, You are just so good.” i think we sometimes forget that worship isn’t only something we do when everything is going right. worship is a choice. it’s choosing to praise Him when you don’t understand. it’s choosing to trust Him when you can’t see what He’s doing. it’s surrendering what you’re holding onto and remembering that He is bigger than whatever is in front of you. and honestly, i never want to lose that. i never want worship to become something i just sing through without thinking about the God i’m singing to. i want it to be the place where i meet Him again and again. the place where i remember who He is, who i am, and how faithful He has always been. “great is the Lord and most worthy of praise.” — Psalm 145:3
