Form Check Friday ✔️
Torso Twist

Base Set-Up: Kneel on the carriage facing the side of the Megaformer. Grab the long cable on the same side with both hands, keeping the handle directly in front of your chest. Sit tall with your shoulders stacked over your hips, spine neutral, and core engaged.

Movement: Engage your obliques to slowly rotate your torso and arms toward the front of the machine, keeping your hands directly in front of your chest. Control the movement as you return to your starting position, stopping when your chest faces the side to maintain constant tension on the cable.

Muscles: Obliques, Shoulders

You should feel the work primarily through the oblique facing the back of the machine. Keep your hips stationary, spine long, and shoulders relaxed throughout. Allow your head and neck to follow the rotation of your torso while keeping your hands centered in front of your chest. Avoid twisting through your hips, leaning back, or rotating past your starting position. Stay slow and controlled throughout.

Keep this post in mind the next time Torso Twist comes up in class. ❤️‍🔥

Form Check Friday ✔️
Dancing Bear

Base Set-Up: Start at the front of the Megaformer facing forward. Place your hands on the front platform and toes on the carriage in a plank position. Stack your shoulders over your wrists, keep a slight tuck of your tailbone, and press your shoulders down into your lats.

Movement: Rotate your knees toward one side, dropping one hip toward the floor to engage the corresponding oblique as you pull the carriage in, bending from the knees. Stop your knees right in line with your hips, before extending your legs back to a full plank, while maintaining your twist. Then alternate to the opposite side. Keep your upper body stable & square as you twist from side to side.

Muscles: Obliques, Abdominals, Triceps, Shoulders, Lats

You should feel the work primarily through the oblique on the side of the hip rotated toward the floor. Keep your shoulders stable and squared off, neck in line with your spine, and core engaged. Avoid letting your hips lift or drop as you return to plank, and keep the movement slow and controlled. Making sure to pull the carriage in using the engagement of your obliques, rather than letting your hip flexors take over the movement.

Save these tips for your next Dancing Bear in class.🫶

LAGREE x V PANELS

Your instructor told you to lift the V Panels.

You did.

But do you know why?

There isn’t a doubt in my mind that if you’re reading this, Lagree has already crossed your path.

So, let’s talk about the creator of your suffering.

More intensity, less stability. That’s the pocket you get to sit in.

They are an honesty box for your form check. So just when you think you’ve found your stability, the v panels will gleefully sag to you, “that’s not quite how I see it!”

So, why? Because “good enough” has never gotten you anywhere. Not in life, not in love, and not in Lagree.
