My heart is full. Thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday and said hi, whether you bought something or not, I'm incredibly grateful for all the lovely (and hilarious) comments, the encouragement and kindness 🩷 I was treating yesterday's market as a test of concept and I am feeling totally overwhelmed by the positive response from locals, tourists as well as other vendors and the amazing team of organizers and volunteers @banffpride 💜 This feels like the start of something really special exciting, and I can't wait to see you all at the next market! 💚 #banffpride #findyourkind #grateful

It’s about time I introduce you to the Yeti Bag. (yes, he definitely needs a name!) This handy, reusable bag folds down to pocket-size but unfolds into a grocery-hauling, farmers-market-ready bag. Starry nights, snowy pines, and one very friendly yeti giving you a thumbs up - because let's be honest, he's just as stoked as you are to ditch the plastic. You can catch us at the Banff Pride market this Saturday (Oct 10) at the Mason Hall in Banff (103 Caribou St), from 10am - 5pm. Come say hi, we’d love to see you there! @banffpride #banffpride #findyourkind

What a weekend at @canmorefolkfestival! This pilot year of Out of Office is completely self-funded and was only made possible from the amazing support of local businesses in our community. If you spoke to us at the festival, you’ll have heard us share about how almost every component we brought to life was donated - from our mural boards and cut outs, to paints, to branding - this is what community support looks like. We want to give a very heartfelt thank you to the following people and businesses who made this initiative possible: • DWC Framing for donating their time, labour and materials to assemble our 8x8ft mural board onsite at the folk festival. • Stephen and his fantastic staff at @benjaminmoorecanmore for donating our paint and discounting our supplies. • Ally and Brett from @valleysignanddesign for creating our very cute CNC bear cut out which many of you took photos with. • @cansigninc for creating our banner to help our OOO brand have a presence. • Jim from @defendingawesome for our cute Out of Office stickers to help us spread the word. • Our very own Steph, @mild.side, for creating our branding and website. • The @canmorefolkfest for being open to creating this space for us to try something new and hopefully continue to grow in! • And finally, a big thank you to everyone who visited us and watched us paint, purchased some goods, took photos, had conversations, asked questions, and shared excitement - we can feel the buzz and we are so excited that you’re excited! There are also many other folks who have supported @_ooomf_ through encouragement, advice and helping us get some wind beneath our sails. I’m looking at you @yycbump, @uplift.fest.jasper, @afa.1991 and many, many more. 👀🙏 Our intention for Out of Office is to become a fundable and sustainable model that can eventually support more artists to bring colour to both the folk festival and Canmore. We are taking baby steps and every sponsor, partner, and supporter makes a huge difference in pushing us towards bringing our vision to life. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! Now watch this space for what’s next! 💛 #OutOfOfficeMuralFestival #OOOMF #MuralFestival

This is what it looks like when we’re Out of Office! We are so excited to kick off our first initiative with @canmorefolkfest this weekend! You can find us onsite live painting and selling a few goodies starting this evening through to Monday. We’d love to meet you, chat public art, hear about what performers you’re most excited to see! And of course, please snap some pics with our mural boards and tag us! Come say hello and be a part of our first steps! 👋🎶 A big special thanks to @valleysignanddesign for donating their time and materials to create the cutest CNC bear cutout and to @benjaminmoorecanmore for their paint donations! There have been many local businesses who have supported this project to come to life (we’ll do a big shoutout soon), but without these folks it would not be possible to bring emerging art initiatives like this to life. We are so grateful! #OutOfOfficeMuralFestival #OOOMF #MuralFestival #CanmoreFolkFestival #bowvalleyarts

Meet Stephanie Louise. Steph is the creative mind behind OOOMF’s visual identity, bringing the festival to life through thoughtful branding, illustration, and design. Her work under @mild.side is rooted in curiosity, storytelling, and creating meaningful visual experiences. From our earliest conversations, Steph understood that OOOMF wasn’t just about murals, it was about building something welcoming, artist-led, and connected to place. Together we’re combining our creative forces to create a festival that feels fun, approachable, and distinctly Bow Valley. We’re so excited to share this journey together. #OutOfOfficeMuralFestival #OOOMF #MuralFestival #CanmoreFolkFestival #BowValleyArts

Every festival starts somewhere. For us, it starts with two artists, two mural panels, and a partnership with @canmorefolkfest. We’re approaching this first year as a pilot project. Rather than trying to launch a large festival all at once, we’re taking the time to learn what works, listen to our community, and build a model that is sustainable, fundable, and designed specifically for the Bow Valley. Public art comes with unique challenges, from funding and wall access to community engagement and artist compensation. We believe those challenges are worth working through and we’re learning as we go. This is our long-term vision: Year One Launch the pilot during the Canmore Folk Music Festival with live mural painting, conversations with the community, and a chance to begin imagining what’s possible together. Year Two Expand to include additional artists, community mural projects, interactive painting experiences, and fair compensation for participating artists. Years Three to Five Grow beyond the festival grounds by bringing murals to walls throughout Canmore, creating more opportunities for artists, and establishing OOOMF as a lasting part of the Bow Valley. We’re building this one step at a time, and we’re grateful to have you along for the journey. #OutOfOfficeMuralFestival #OOOMF #MuralFestival #CanmoreFolkFestival #BowValleyArts

What a dream weekend painting at UpLift! Thank you @uplift.fest.jasper @logan.ire @oliver.g.andrew and thank you @_alexkwong and @insane51 for the valuable advice! It was so fun, the community that’s created here is just extraordinary and an honour to be a part of. Every person and place was inspiring in their own ways and I’m so grateful. The seacan I painted was in Marmot Meadows, an area of interim housing while Jasper rebuilds after the fire, this Recovery in Colour program with @redcrosscanada added so much meaning to the project, meeting so many kind people. And painting beside my friend @teenybotanist from a @sydtheartiste workshop was such a lovely surprise. Because the unveiling and final day of the festival was on Mother’s Day, the mural honours mothers and caretakers, a gentle invitation to rest, nurturing, and peace. - The design had some last minute changes when I met this pup Turbo while registering with the Red Cross, a valuable addition to the design haha -
