Part 2 from delta v Demo Day, MIT’s student startup accelerator out of the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship. 🦞 Missed Part 1? It’s on my page.

Familiar faces and new ones: founders fresh off a pre-seed round (and hiring!), health tech builders, VCs, and the Greentown Labs crew.

These delta v founders are wicked impressive. Congrats on Demo Day.

Asking a VC for money isn’t like asking a relative for $100. Not even close.

VCs aren’t banks either. A bank runs an underwriting process and, if you qualify, you get a loan.

VCs invest in founding teams they’ve gotten to know and who show real progress. They’re looking for a 10x return, because most of their bets won’t pay off and the winners have to cover the losses.

New to how it works? Follow along. I’m sharing simple tips on the process and the key terms every founder should know.

💡 Deploying Capital into AI

milemark•capital is thrilled to announce its investment in Otomo Health (@mit delta v startup). Otomo is building the Next-Gen AI-native front-and-backoffice workflow automation for healthcare service providers.

With healthcare accounting for 17%+ of U.S. GDP and rising costs, there is a paramount need for operational efficiencies. AI-native healthcare startups are the driving force of innovation. These are the reasons we remain deeply committed to this industry.

Otomo stands out by uniquely solving an immediate pain point (utilization management) at a smart point of entry (overwhelming administrative workflows) in patient care. Their platform not only empowers providers to deliver better outcomes at higher profitability but also leverages AI agents to capture data/insights from patient behavior that were impossible to capture before and at such scale.

We are inspired by the traction Otomo has already achieved and the vision of its founders –Mike, Kiyo, and Kevin– to create technology that meaningfully improves healthcare delivery and outcomes.

Congrats to Rumika Sharma for her completion of her MBA at Babson College! We thank her profoundly for all her valuable contributions and for being a great member of our team.

"Working as a milemark•capital Venture Fellow has given me invaluable exposure to the rigorous due diligence process behind the scenes for each investment. This role also allowed me to build subject matter expertise in AI, and I am grateful to have been mentored by the Managing Partners, where I gained profound insights into their decision-making processes and investment philosophies."

We're proud to be a launchpad for the next generation of investors — and even prouder to see our fellows grow into leaders shaping the future.

We are certain you will achieve new heights. We will miss you but are also thrilled to see you grow 🚀.

milemark•capital’s @professorsinan was invited by @yahoofinance to share his insights on the present and future state of Artificial Intelligence.

• Jevons’ Paradox in play to increase compute demand: Efficiency gains in training models (e.g., DeepSeek) translate into efficiencies in gains that ignite widespread adoption — i.e., as models become cost effective & easier to use, they further create more demand for compute power and AI chips

• More complexity with the rise of reasoning models: As we move from Large Language Models into more complex Reasoning Models, more compute power is required

• The Rise of Agentic AI: We are experiencing a shift from AI that gives advice through language to AI that can make decisions & take actions in the real world

• Expect Paradigm Shifts: New chips coming from different technologies, such as quantum, photonics, is expected and large firms are deploying capital into these new technologies
