Today, I Walked to End Alzheimer’s! Today was a beautiful day at the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s! My family walked with me in loving memory of my grandmother, Mabel, who passed away from dementia in March 2011. It was such a wonderful event, filled with love, support, and beautiful memories. I want to thank my family and friends for walking with me, supporting GRANNY’S TEAM, and helping us honor my grandmother’s memory. 💜 We are still accepting donations! 💜 If you were unable to walk with us, you can still make a difference! Please consider donating to GRANNY’S TEAM through the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We lost our grandmother in 2011, we miss her!! In 2015, Venus opened Mabel’s House Assisted Living, named in our grandmother’s honor. In 2016, she opened Vital Sign Home Care. Our experience with our grandmother helped inspire her to care for other families. That’s why the Alzheimer’s walk means so much to us. We’re walking in our grandmother’s honor, and we’d love for you to join us. We have shirts for anyone who wants to walk with us! Send either of us a message if you’d like to come. BALTIMORE, YOU SHOWED UP! 🖤🌱 On September 26th, we gathered for “Fellas’, How’s Your Mental?” and made room for something the world doesn’t always give men permission to do… BE HUMAN. To feel. To speak. To heal. To be free. Under the theme “Freedom Is…”, we were reminded that freedom looks different for all of us. For some, it’s forgiveness. For others, it’s releasing what they’ve carried in silence for far too long. But one thing was clear: MEN DESERVE SAFE SPACES, TOO. From the powerful conversations and poetry to the resources, connections, and community in the room, this was bigger than an event. THIS is what bridging the gap looks like. This is what happens when we stop asking men to be strong long enough to ask them how they’re REALLY doing. To every man who showed up, every woman who stood beside them, every panelist, partner, vendor, volunteer, and supporter who said YES — THANK YOU. 🫶🏽 At Kerina’s Place, we’re not just talking about mental health. We’re creating spaces where healing can begin, stories can be told, and nobody has to carry it all alone. Because behind every strong man is a HUMAN being who deserves support, too. Sunday Run Blazers hit a little different! 🔥 This morning, the Blazers pulled up, laced up, and put the Nike Pegasus Plus 2s to the test! Big shoutout to @_ashasteele_ from @nike for hosting an awesome shoe demo, and to @tiffbmore for making the connection happen.
