Maggie Bishop finishes Runner-Up at the Virginia XC Showcase!

On a cold and rainy morning in Virginia, Providence Academy Junior Maggie Bishop competed by invitation in the Elite Girls Showcase. Maggie went head-to-head with one of the most competitive HS Cross Country fields this season, featuring seven nationally ranked runners and some of the nation’s top talent.

In a race billed by MileSplit as one of the most anticipated HS Girls competitions of the season, Maggie proved that she belongs among the nation’s best!

I’m super excited to officially announce my commitment to run D1 track and cross country at University of Central Arkansas!

On the second slide of a commitment edit, it is traditional to put a picture of you as a toddler or young child (which I have done), but I could have just as easily put a picture of two or three years ago- I don’t even know if I would recognize the person I used to be. In my high school career, I’ve been blessed with great development and growth. As many of my future competitors geared up for the next few years, I took years worth of breaks from sports, running in khakis and polos and only when I absolutely had to. That version of me would be very surprised to see what I am today. The real reason any of that is possible at all is the people I was able to put myself around. My mom has been a pivotal piece in the road, offering so much of her time as well as coaching, and I was blessed once again to have Coach Weaver to work through the recruiting process with.
Massive thanks to both of them, as well as my team, who gave me what first led my interest in the sport- a good time.
I chose a college for the people, and I can’t wait to get started working with them on what I do best. Go bears 🐻

I would like to officially announce my commitment to run Division 1 Cross Country and Track at the University of Central Arkansas. I want to thank God first for being my motivation. I am extremely honored and grateful to announce my commitment to the University of Mississippi Track & Field and Cross Country programs!!

First and foremost, I want to thank God for his blessings and guidance over me. Thank you to Coach Logan for everything-I would not be where I am today without you. I’d also like to thank the rest of my coaches, friends, and family for being with me through it all and for their immense love and support.
