I love you, but God loves you more!
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
took awhile to get around to posting about junior track season, but i’ve got lots to say!! i truly put it all out on the track, and i’m so thankful for every opportunity God gave me. from making memories with the best team, to competing at nationals, earning all-american honors, and setting new PR’s, this season was such a gift!!

over the years, i’ve grown to love this sport more and more. this year, i poured everything into it - and God taught me huge lessons through that.

my love for track causes me to prioritize it over other things in my life, put lots of time and work into it, and make room for it in my daily life. i happily do these things because i love this sport - but it made me realize i don’t always do these things for God. it showed me ways my love for God had grown stagnant and i had been going through the motions in my walk with Christ. i want to pursue God with that same intensity and love that i have learned to pursue this sport with.

another lesson i learned this year is that earthy accomplishments - like PR’s, medals, qualifications are wonderful things that reflect hard work and good stewardship. those things i will continue to strive for and i am so incredibly grateful for, but i also want to be an athlete that also stores my treasures in heaven.

i have my athletic goals for next year, but my biggest goal is to seek the Lord with all my heart!!

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Dear Track and field,

It is hard to put into words what this sport has meant to me. I started high jump in high school just for fun and it quickly became my greatest passion. When I joined Midland’s Track team I was only a 4”11 high jumper who wouldn’t have believed you if you told me what my career would be. 4 years later I am a 7x all Conference, 3x Conference champion, and a 2x National All American whose new PR is 5”6.50. On top of my amazing career I have met the most incredible people and have made more friends than I could have asked for. At my last track meet nothing made me more grateful in this world when I looked up and saw my team, family, and multiple friends cheering me on from the sidelines while surrounded by the most supportive competitors who I now call friends after all these years. Through all the highs and lows, missed bars and long practices, I wouldn’t trade these past 8 years for anything. I will miss this so much, goodbye track and field 🤍

Athletic career closed!

I cannot believe I finished my last ever track meet and my last ever thing as a student athlete. I have been so grateful and blessed to play two sports in college. I truly thank everyone who was apart of this journey of mine. I will forever be grateful that God gave me this opportunity. I’m happy to close this chapel of my life on a high note❤️

2x All American for High Jump! My last indoor track and field season ended with GPAC Conference Champion and 8th Place at Indoor National Track and Field. I couldn’t have imagined this for my last indoor season and it went by so fast. I’m so grateful for this sport and the relationships it has given me and I can’t to start outdoor season!!!
