Such a pleasure to finally meet queer arts hero @millertale IRL at his home in LA. Tim was a member of ACT UP, co-founded PS122, and was one of the NEA 4- a group of queer and feminist artists who sued the National Endowment for the Arts over their targeting of gay art and took them to the Supreme Court in 1998. Tim and I spoke to the @aclu_nationwide about the similarities and differences between his NEA 4 case and our current ‘gender ideology case.’ Check it out at the link in my bio.

A little throwback… I recently came across this flyer from the @lambdaliterary Festival in San Francisco in October 2001, just weeks after 9/11. Looking at it now, I’m struck by the incredible writers I had the privilege of sharing the stage with, including Ann Bannon, Andrew Holleran, Donna Allegra, Dorothy Allison, Michelle Tea, Tim Miller, David Ebershoff, Tristan Taormino, Lawrence Schimel, Jay Quinn, and so many others. I was just a young writer, and I had no idea where it would lead. More than two decades later, I’m still writing, still learning, and still grateful to be part of this community. My newest poetry collection, Still, We Are Sacred, is available now: 📚 https://a.co/d/07etzKNy Here’s to the writers who came before us, those still beside us, and those yet to come. ❤️
