R A K A T L A U N C H
A heartfelt thank you from our Director 🩶

“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined me in planting the seeds of our journey this past weekend. From the audience to the cast performers, family, sponsors, artists, technicians and my dedicated team, words fall short in expressing the profound feeling in my heart. Each face is printed in my memory, and this experience will remain unforgettable.

Thank you all for celebrating the launch of the Rakat Dance Company. Months of planning culminated in just two days, but the memories will last a lifetime.

Thank you,
• Caroline Calburn (Theatre Arts venue)
• @artscapetheatre (Rehearsal space)
• Averil Manahor and Jenifer Telemarkes: Your sponsorship made a significant impact; every contribution counts.
• @manuelfadwa and @its_me_shimaaz, Your hands-on support ensured everything ran smoothly during the event and planning.
• @milli_mangate and Fran’s, Thank you for creating magic with sound and lights.
• Cast Dancers: You danced with passion, immersing yourselves in the space we explored together.
• @giftofdancesa and @capeballetafrica Dance Companies, It was a privilege to share the stage with you and collaborate on this initiative.

Rakat Team
• @shannon_bester, A woman of many talents—dancer, designer, and always there to lend a hand.
• @olivia_ntsuba, As the MC, photographer, videographer and friend, your support in visualising every show is greatly appreciated.
@keishiasolomon, You are my driving force. Thank you for being my source of energy in moments of fatigue, my healer in times of pain, and my calm amidst chaos. You dedicated immense effort both behind the scenes and on stage, from designing the space to refining choreography and managing operations, all while steadfastly believing in the vision.

This experience never felt like a favor; it felt like family coming together from every corner. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. I am forever grateful for the ease and joy this journey has brought. With all my heart, I thank you once again for being a part of this remarkable experience. Let’s continue to dance, dream, and inspire together.

Love to all
Yaseen”

What a Night! Closing off my birthday week with a concert moment, cause you can't keep me off the stage if you tried!

Thank you Cape Town for coming out in your numbers to pack out @theoutlorebase and the Christmas-In-July edition of @musicalmondays_ct Mondays!

Thanks @samanthalandersvocalist and Garth and @jasonbird12 for being a fire team, running a tight ship!

Congratulations to all the performers and technicians for a great show, let's do it again sometime! ❤️😘
