With research showing 90% of marketers agree that brand language is vital for business success, your business needs to speak confidently and clearly. Given this, we wanted to learn from an expert on how you can differentiate your brand’s voice in an ever-crowded market. In this episode, we hear from Millie Kendall OBE, renowned brand builder and founder of the British Beauty Council, Brandstand Communications and Ruby & Millie. With a 30-year track record of launching and marketing beauty brands, Millie founded the British Beauty Council in 2018 to nurture talent, growth and development within the industry. Keep listening to hear why Millie thinks a brand voice is critical for any new brand and how to begin defining yours. Millie’s advice: - When branding your product, it is not just a question of logo - Vitally important is that the branding should show the ethics of the company - The brand identity will always represent the values of the founder (if a product is taken over, the brand identity is precious) - When establishing a brand identity, try putting in a box the ten things in your home you value most - and then identifying what they have in common. - Imagine your customer is yourself - Do your research, and be sure you know your audience (as well as your competitors) - Then the tone of voice will come naturally, followed by the name, the packaging, the style - These things will generate trust and loyalty in your customers - Your brand voice will evolve over time, and rebranding can occur spontaneously - It is important to be clear and authoritative - If you believe in the efficacy of your product your brand voice will be strong #charlottetilbury #beautybrands #brandingadvice #prpro #pr101 #pressrelations #communications #prnetwork #prprofessional #storytellingmarketing #prcoach #prstrategy #femalefounder #femalefounderscollective #publicrelations #prlife #startuphelp #startupadvice #businesscoachingprogram #womeninmedia

Today was a fantastic day spent in Chelsea at the Organic Pharmacy Skin Care Rescue Lab for the launch of their refreshed product line. @theorganicpharmacy The focus was on prioritising sustainability, waste reduction, and a new easy colour -coded step-by-step process. With over 20 successful years in the industry, the brand continues to move forward with great momentum. During the event, we learned about the brand’s commitment to using gold standard naturally formulated and clinically proven ingredients in their already amazing formulas. These have been upgraded with new and improved organic and natural ingredients. The brand’s ethos revolves around dermatologically tested products that deliver clinically proven results, trusted by beauty therapists and dermatologists alike. The day began with a healthy breakfast featuring a nutritious Açai bowl which came with a variety of delicious toppings. We were captivated by an informative presentation given by Managing Director Claire Bories/Azeau and her exceptional laboratory technician. We also had the opportunity to attend Dr. Terry Loong’s skincare master class, @dr_terry_ where personalised skin consultations provided valuable advice and a fabulous goodie bag to take home. As a special touch, I received a beautifully handcrafted card adorned with my chosen affirmation of the day, embellished with exquisite dried pressed flowers by @smartfloralart Meeting a diverse range of people, from lab technicians to managing and marketing directors, PR’s and industry professionals, made the day even more delightful. The sun shining down on us added an extra layer of magic to the day. 😊✨ Thank you, The Organic Pharmacy, for such a wonderful experience. @brandstandcomms Your brand is truly adored. 💚✨ @juliacarta #getcarta #organicpharmacy #Beautylaunch #sustainableskincare #organic #Chelsea

What is sustainable beauty...? That was the question yesterday for the packed ‘Everything, Everywhere: Beauty At What Cost?’panel hosted by @weleda_uk to launch two new age-defying ranges, Pomegranate and Maca Peptides and Blue Gentian and Edelweiss, at the florabundantly fun one-day pop-up ‘House of Weleda’, which also showcased all this heritage natural brand’s amazing (and very affordable) ranges, so many of which have scooped Beauty BIble Awards over the years. Weleda also unveiled their new film in partnership with @arizona_muse ‘s @dirt_charity , the latest initiative in Weleda’s brilliant ‘Save Earth’s Skin’ campaign – watch our website for more news, soon – which focuses on the fragility of our planet’s surface, and how vital it is to protect it. (Just like our own skins.) Thanks to @atehjewel @bryony_blake @jaynesterland @milliekendall and Dr. Justine Hextall for such a thought-provoking morning. One of those #weloveour job days, for sure... #saveearthsskin #beautylaunches #houseofweleda

Just a huge thank you to the glorious Tracey Woodward for our meeting yesterday. Speaking with Tracey is like being hit with a ray of sunshine. Her positive attitude is shared liberally and is one of her most endearing and valuable traits! Not for the first time (as an invaluable advisory board member of the PHAB Service Stars) she has, inadvertently made me really think about yet another improvement to our application process! Her focus always being on establishing the best ways to ensure long term success for hairdressers, beauty therapists, nail technicians, barbers and hair-colourists. The job of the PHAB Service Stars is to recognise and support the very best practitioners in the U.K. and Ireland so that consumers know exactly where to take their haircare, skincare and nail-care concerns and come out having them resolved by the most talented in industry! Goes without saying that the changes highlighted by Tracey will be absorbed and incorporated into our application process post-haste! We spoke about many things but the biggest takeaway for me was the pivotal role that wellness and self-care will play in helping the best practitioners in our industry sustain their success, long term! Watch this space! Thank you Tracey Woodward for all that you do in the Industry and for being part of our advisory board at the PHAB Service Stars! We really do have the very best experts on our Advisory Board team who are dedicated to performance excellence and 5 Star Service! Thank you to each and everyone of you. 🙏🏻 Millie Kendall O.B.E.
