We’re eit swim (pronounced “ee-toh”). A Japanese swimwear brand, made in Japan since 2018. 🇯🇵🌳 We started with a simple idea: swimwear that works in the ocean, but doesn’t feel out of place in the city. We still make everything in Japan, at a third-generation sewing factory we’ve been working with for years. 8 years in Japan. This weekend, millions of us will head to the beach looking for freedom. 🧐 We’ll spray thousands of gallons of sunscreen onto our skin. We’ll leave behind mountains of plastic. We’ll drink millions of gallons of alcohol. We’ll eat food our grandparents wouldn’t recognize. We’ll celebrate our independence while our coastlines quietly carry the weight of our choices. Then Monday comes… Our skin breaks out. We feel inflamed. We’re dehydrated. We’re exhausted. And somehow… We blame the sun. But did we ever stop to ask what else touched our skin? What else entered our body? What did we feed ourselves before blaming the oldest medicine on Earth? July 5th has become one of the dirtiest beach days of the year. Beaches across the country are covered in plastic bottles, food wrappers, fireworks debris, cigarette butts, and everything else we forgot to take home. ...and we call this freedom? what if freedom is making choices that make our bodies more solar aligned and our beaches cleaner than we found them.
