Both Lilly and I would like to extend our gratitude to all those who participated in Art BBQ last year, our first debut group show, we were absolutely honoured by the support, positivity and the generosity of all the artists involved.

I would also like to thank Katie (director @studio44ad ) who gave us the space and opportunity to launch Chip In and our curatorial journey with community at its heart.

Spanning over two rooms at 44AD Artspace ( @studio44AD ) in the ground floor gallery, ‘Art BBQ’ honoured community, connections and the joy of gathering, through an installation that celebrates emerging artists.

Eleanor Cowell (b. 1996) ( @eljoart ) is a London based artist who recently completed her MA in Fine Art at City and Guilds Art School ( @cglartschool ). Cowell was selected for the Longlist for the Jacksons Art Prize (both 2025 & 2026) and has participated in a number of group shows such as ‘30 by 30’ at Two plus Two ( @twoplustwo202 ) 2026, ‘Summer Crush’, curated by Seeing Loud (2025) and ‘At the Door’, curated by Coat ( @coat.collaborative ) at Safehouse (2025)

Her work explores the digital and human future through printmaking and painting. By fabricating boundless environments, Cowell considers how the groundlessness of the digital space relates to our sense of place. For the artist the duality between the optimism of technological advances and its societal impact is a point of tension, yet continually inspirational.

I once taught this child’s mother art . Every time I looked at her photos it was like seeing her mother again as a child . I wish I had captured the moment of reveal yesterday as this child gasp for joy . But I did capture moments of sunlight glistening around her precious face during her photo shoot . And what about those wispy blonde highlights that glow 🤩🤩🤩
