It’s so cliché. People tell you all the time that it goes by fast, that it’s over before you know it. You hear the words, but they don’t really sink in… until one day your baby is an adult.

He graduated high school a few years early, already took some college classes, working at a supercar club, and building a little business of his own. What makes me most proud isn’t his accomplishments, though. It’s who he is.

He is one of the most thoughtful and loving big brothers I know. He endlessly celebrates Mason and Liam and genuinely delights in their successes. He is deeply attuned to the emotions of the people he loves. He notices when someone is struggling. He encourages. He affirms. He cares.

He’s funny, wise beyond his years, and one of my favorite people to spend time with. Truly, he’s our best friend.

Everyone is posting graduation tributes right now, and because Milo never had a traditional commencement ceremony, I wanted to post my own little tribute.

Milo, thank you for being one of the greatest joys of my life. Thank you for the man you are becoming.

Being your mom is the greatest privileges of my life.

I love you more than words can say.
