Review of Milou: It was my first and likely last time at Milou. Loved the atmosphere. Had the hanger steak with salad, French onion soup, and Chateau de Bourgogne (triple cream cows milk cheese, wildflower honey, toasted sourdough). I was excited to see hanger steak because this is hard to come by. The peppercorn sauce that came with it was delicious but the steak itself was overly salted. I loved the Caesar salad with double smoked thick cut pieces of bacon. My friend had the frites. They didn't look crispy and she found them overly salted. The French onion soup lacked depth of flavour but there was a generous layer of cheese. Lastly, we both really enjoyed the cheese appetizer. It was the perfect spreading texture and compliment to the honey. I personally would have preferred untoasted bread for this dish, but that might just be a me thing. Lastly, the customer service was Not good. We had to flag wait staff down for every item we ordered - each drink and appetizers separately from the entrees. That felt disruptive. Still had a great time because of the great company @miss_miller

Pondered whether to share on social media what happened last week: witnessed a man jump off a balcony and someone I know passed away…

On top of everything else, the experience made me truly reflect on all the incredible things I have in my life at this very moment, (regardless of what comes next).
To aspire to truly pay attention.

Again, sending love 🤍

* and of course, thankful the most to my family. I wish I could share a recent picture together but for now only FaceTiming.
