I find it to be a recurring theme in conversation, but my better half and I always think it’s wild how we just don’t go to the big coffee chains anymore because there are so many superior places in the entire Detroit and metro Detroit area. @milwaukeecaffe being yet another fine example of this in their form of an iced vanilla latte & an iced vanilla cardamom latte. Maybe it’s just the seasons changing, maybe it’s the actual encounter I had inside, but their warm approach and conversation is enough to make anyone go back. Not to mention the coffee being divine. There are tons that become frequent flyers for me, yet the few that go in those special slots above will always have me singing praises for them! Milwaukee Caffè is definitely one of them. See y’all again soon!

Tried out Milwaukee Caffè in Detroit’s Milwaukee Junction ☕️✨

I got the iced chai and it was really good 🤎 My friend got the raspberry matcha — decent matcha, but wasn’t really getting raspberry.

It’s a tiny, intimate Italian-inspired coffee bar focused on connection, community + creative pop-ups. Cute spot for a quick coffee date or catch-up! P.S. probably don’t record or take any photos of staff🙃

Favorite thing to do when I first wake up is move my body + coffee!!! So first I hit up @hotbonesdetroit for a hot mat express class. Shoutout to @greenstephh for kicking my assssss 🥵💦

Then grabbed an iced americano (my go-to) at @milwaukeecaffe with Bruce and walked to the DIA before back home to the loft to work 🤭✌🏽💻

Peep the @daphnesbagels too 🥯

Want to try a class for free on me at Hot Bones? Link in bio of our Detroit page (@dinksindetroit) for a class credit!! 🧘‍♀️

What does it actually look like to build a life in Detroit?

We’re two entrepreneurs who recently bought a loft in Milwaukee Junction, and this is what a random Tuesday looked like: coffee at @milwaukeecaffe, work from the loft, a walk down the Dequindre Cut, local favorites like @franksdeliandgrill and @yumvillage, and a whole lot of reasons we’re glad we made the move.

A few weeks in, and we’re learning that it’s the everyday moments that make a city feel like home.

Detroit, on purpose ❤️🏙️

Your ✨ Comprehensive Detroit Travel Guide ✨

just kidding. but honestly we did go to some pretty incredible places, so you're welcome.

@marrow_inthemarket (1-3) | for our one nice dinner of the trip, we chose this based on multiple recommendations, and it was LOVELY. We basically split a 4-course meal and had plenty. The pork schnitzel was giant and SO delicious

@stadtgartendetroit (4-6) | this is the other place that made us break our rules and visit twice. in the bottom level of a beautiful old house, it serves wine and beer in a colorful, quirky interior and on a sprawling, casual lawn. On our second visit we brought in @michiganandtrumbullpizza and sat on the porch, ending with a cocktail from @wetpicnicdetroit, just down in the basement

@anthologycoffee (7-8) | in the Eastern Market, this was the best coffee of the trip, and i could tell the moment I walked in. Pretentious vibes in the best way (I wouldn't dare insult these baristas by ordering a flavored latte). we snagged one of the few sunny outdoor spots to sit and read

@vesperbooksandwine (9-11) | located in what looks like an old bank (?), this natural wine bar was extremely cool (and extremely pricey, so we just stayed for one glass). books and wine yay!!

@milwaukeecaffe (12-13) | a tiny neighborhood coffee shop where it seemed like the baristas knew everyone

@sugarhousebar (14) | I'm sad I don't have better pictures, but LOVED this craft cocktail bar. Unassuming vibes and excellent drinks. After days of sitting in the sun drinking wine, we perched at a dark corner of the bar and drank martinis and people-watched

@thecongregationdetroit (15-16) | coffee here was just okay, but you can't beat the vibes of a cafe in a church. Great space to hunker down and work from

@fatherforgivemedet (17) | gets another mention just to say that there's a grassy lawn covered in picnic blankets where you can bring your wine and recline and that was one of my favorite parts of the whole trip

📚 have to mention the not one but TWO kitty bookstores we found: @purrfiction_detroit (I wanted to adopt everyone 😭) & @detroitspecialsbooks 😻😻😻
