🧠💕 IN CASE YOU MISSED IT… Mental Health & Self-Care Edition! 🌸

On October 20th, Melanin In Medicine at UNCG partnered with YWCA Greensboro’s Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies program for an afternoon dedicated to mental wellness, self-care, and community support! 💗

Together, we explored healthy ways to manage stress, practice self-care, set boundaries, and prioritize emotional well-being. Through meaningful conversations, creative activities, and shared experiences, we reminded our moms that taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of others! ✨

A special thank you to Melanin In Medicine and everyone who joined us for creating such a welcoming and supportive space! 🫶🏽

🌷 Remember: You can’t pour from an empty cup. Give yourself the same love, patience, and care you give to others.

You’ve been carrying it for a long time. Maybe for your whole family.

The strong one. The one who translates, holds it all together, and keeps going. The one who learned early that rest has to be earned and feelings stay inside.

You deserve a place to set it down.

Resilient Roots is welcoming new clients, with immediate openings. You can start now, with therapists who won’t need you to explain your culture, your faith, or your family before the real work begins.

We offer culturally responsive, trauma informed care for People of the Global Majority, first and second generation immigrants, and anyone untangling religious trauma, complex trauma, or patterns passed down through generations.

Healing can mean tending your roots, not leaving them behind.

Last Wednesday, Sisterhood Society teamed up with MIM ( @mim_uncg, @mim_ncat) and NCNW ( @ncnwuncg) to host a Community Baby Shower, where we celebrated and supported moms and babies in our community. There were games, great food, bonding, and a chance to give back to those in need! 🍼🎀

Pilates, Pals & Pink Drinks🩷
A day rooted in self love. From journaling affirmations and moving our bodies intentionally with Erin @sanadopilates , to crafting bath bombs with the store @lushcosmetics and ending with refueling our bodies at our hydration & snack bar.

“Lady Lady” by Olivia said it best, becoming the woman you’re meant to be starts here.💕

Thank you to @mim_uncg @mim_ncat members for volunteering their time.
