Well… today marks my last day at @slr_recruitment and tbh I can’t stop crying, what an emotional week.
I’ve spent the week saying goodbye to staff, clients, candidates and friends… trying not to cry in public and failing massively .

Teary with @daisybrownley_x
Teary with @jodiealden_ and @the_marine_trades_recruiter
Not @the_seaweedgal though because we’ll be drinking wine at The Thatched within 5 business days.

And @roadsmichele can’t get rid of me anyway I’m basically your work daughter now.

The weird thing about SLR is… it never really felt like work.
People talk about “company culture” all the time, but what Sarah has built genuinely feels like a family. Your colleagues become your sisters, your clients become your friends and somewhere between the chaos, the site visits, the London dinners, the 7am group chat popping off, the JobAdder Police and Sarah telling me to “Google it”… you grow up a bit.

Four years ago I barely knew how to use a laptop.
Now I can almost confidently use a spreadsheet thanks to Hannah.
I’ve travelled all over the UK, done public speaking, met incredible people and had the privilege of watching SLR grow from three of us around Sarah’s dining table into award-winning businesses, multiple offices and Best Overall Business of the Year 🏆

Watching SLR and @the_marine_recruiter win awards over the years has been so special to be part of and something I’ll always be incredibly proud of.

Thank you to the whole SLR chaos club past and present for the friendships, the laughs, the support and the memories I’ll laugh about forever.

I’m leaving with thicker skin, more confidence, friendships for life and a completely different mindset.

And although I never expected to leave SLR with a soulmate… I have found a life long big sister, best friend and soul mate in Sarah thank you for taking a chance on me, I will be forever grateful of everything you have done for me you have quite literally changed my life….

Now if everyone could stop making me cry in public, that would be fabulous.

On Friday, the SLR & Pebble Payroll team celebrated our Christmas do with a fantastic day of relaxation and festive activities. The day began with spa treatments, followed by Secret Santa, a three-course dinner with drinks, and finished with a boogie on the dance floor. 🎄

It was a wonderful way to recognise and celebrate the team’s hard work and achievements over the past year.

A massive thank you to Sarah for treating us all so wonderfully, we really feel lucky to have such a brilliant boss! 🎉

Meet the Pebble Payroll Team⭐️

We’re excited to introduce Hannah, our payroll manager, and Michele, our payroll assistant! They work incredibly hard to keep everything running smoothly at Pebble Payroll.

A bit about the team:

Hannah: Hi, I have been with Pebble Payroll since 2022, joining Sarah in her new adventure after a career in Engineering technical sales and accounts. I was excited to learn all things payroll and use my expertise to help set up Pebble Payroll, it’s been a wonderful journey and I have created work life balance that I was craving from my last role. Excel extraordinaire, yes spreadsheets excite me! Mum of 2, grandma of 2 and doggy momma to beautiful Luna, a Newfipoo 🐾

Michele: Hi, after spending seven years in Denver, Colorado, I returned to Southsea and joined Pebble Payroll. My background is in IT, where I worked for over 20 years, but I’ve loved stepping into the payroll world - it just goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks! Being part of both Pebble and SLR has been a fantastic experience, and I really enjoy the work we do💙

Pebble are lucky to have such a dedicated and hardworking team! #pebblepayroll #payroll #meettheteam
