Ran my third half marathon hallelujah
Had friends and family supporting me hallelujah
Successful training block hallelujah
A body that moves hallelujah

Wheeewwwieeee. This race taught me a lot and I learned I need to be kinder to myself because I’m doing something really really hard! And something Rubie 3 years ago would’ve never dreamed of.

Thank you @redcoyoterunning for amazing coaches leading the best training block!

The race started out great, high energy, lots of crowds, but then the humidity and heat hit. And lemme tell ya, IT HIT. My POTs flared, and had a lil menty b (thank gosh for one of my friends who got me through it) and I was really really hard on myself. My goal shifted from “I am going to hit my A goal” to “I just need to finish” and I did! I was surrounded by so much love from friends & family, voice memos, and texts, and it meant the world to me. Andddd, I walked away with a PR 🥹 (surprise!)

I did this race toward the end of my luteal phase, IYKYK, and I just am so so so proud of my body. 2023 Rubie would have never been able to do this. She was bedridden with endometriosis pain and curled on the bathroom floor. 2026 Rubie keeps defying the odds one day at a time. So I keep going for the versions of myself that never thought we could!! I am thankful to be challenged in doing hard things! TYJ, truly. What a gift and privilege it is to be able to do this.

& for my chronic illness girlies- KEEP GOING. KEEP advocating for yourself. I know it’s exhausting, you deserve a quality of life. You deserve drs that listen. You deserve care. Love you.

🌥️ april showers …

as 2024 draws to an end, I am looking back on all the memories I made. There’s lots of little life moments I documented, but never shared. So here’s the first of a few “lost files”, I’ll be adding to my online digital scrapbook before the year wraps. ☺️

TLDR; not me posting April in December??!!
