The process of development and sampling, all the way through shooting and creative direction is lengthy but worth it.

Today I wanted to share some behind the scenes with you on that process, specifically the development and sampling process 🪡

- First we have the sketching, and fabric sourcing stage. This is my favorite part, ideating on what to create next, and visiting Mood to touch fabrics and compare hand-feel and weight.

- Next we have the patternmaking stage. You've communicated your design idea to the factory, and the patternmaker is ready to work their magic and map out the blueprint of your design.

- And once that's all sorted, you can finally schedule fittings! The initial fitting will be with what's called muslin fabric, which you can just think of as canvas.
Here we will ensure the design is balanced and fits.

- Once edits to your muslin sample are made, you're ready to see your design in the final fabric! Here there are often multiple rounds to get it right...but once you do, you are ready for size grading and at last, production!

I hope sharing this process gives more insight and helps you appreciate craftsmanship and
slow fashion even more.

With love,
Tzila
