Mina the little rockstar 🎸

It’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do 🎶

Music at our holiday camps isn’t just about learning notes and songs - it’s about building confidence, expressing yourself and having the courage to perform with a smile on your face ✨

Whether it’s a first performance, a favourite song or simply enjoying making music, every musical moment is worth celebrating!

This video is a little piece of my journey so far.

What started as taking photos of my son during lockdown slowly became something so much bigger than I ever imagined. From just wanting to capture some of his early life with my camera, to building a business around his needs, to creating the kind of storytelling images I used to only dream about making.

There have been so many moments where I nearly stopped. So many setbacks behind the scenes. But I kept creating anyway. Kept learning. Kept pushing myself to tell bigger stories through my work.

And I honestly wouldn’t still be here doing this without the support of so many incredible people.

The biggest thank you to @septemberlily_ for helping me with so many shoots, being second mum to my son and always being there through the creative chaos. Thank you to my family for childcare, support, encouragement and for constantly sharing my work even when things have felt impossible. Thank you to the @kingstrust for the mentoring, training and grant that helped start this business journey for me. Thank you to @nigelwoodphotographs for your expertise, advice and support on shoots. Thank you to @meg_nlo, @iwonapodlasinska, and @ninamacephotography for the training, encouragement, inspiration and for helping me grow so much creatively. @hazelwrenhandmade for using me for marking images throughout the year and helping me to improve on my skills and always praising my work even when I wasn’t confident in myself. Thank you to my friends who shared posts, liked photos, came along to model, supported ideas and believed in me long before I believed in myself.

And thank you to every amazing child and family I’ve photographed. Some of you are part of this video and every single shoot has shaped me as both a photographer and storyteller.

A huge thank you as well to the incredible local venues and locations that helped bring these ideas to life including @holstvictorianhousemuseum, @steamgwsr, @cotswoldlavender, @overfarmgloucester, @gloucestercathedral and @tulleystulips.

This is still only the beginning 🤍

The Google battle is still ongoing 😅

🌷 The first of my tulip photos is here 🌷

I have to say I absolutely loved using this location! The tulip fields @tulleystulipgarden were just incredible with all the colours and different varieties - some I’ve never seen before! It felt magical! The kids had so much fun running up and down through the rows and just soaking it all in.

Around the site there were also colourful Dutch themed buildings and a windmill. So many lovely backdrops in one place.

I’ll be sharing a few of my favourites over the next few days, but I had to start with this one as it’s was exactly what I wanted to do when I first saw the tulips. Who can resist running through a beautiful flower field!?

I’ll also create a behind the scenes blog soon on my website all about what it was like shooting at the tulip fields for the first time. Keep an eye out for that if you’re curious what goes into one of these sessions.

And just a heads up…my lavender mini sessions will be opening for booking in the next couple of weeks! There won’t be many slots available this year so if you want first dibs, make sure you’re signed up to my newsletter via my website.
