🐙✨ TESTIMONY TUESDAY: I PUT AN OCTOPUS IN THE CEILING! 😱‼️🎨 Sometimes a creative opportunity calls for you to LITERALLY take your art to another dimension. When @sulodcocktailbar invited me to create something for their space, I knew I had to make it @carymichael_ style🕺🏽😎🎨 The vision? An octopus literally bursting thru the ceiling. And there was NO way I was doing that flat and 2-dimensional😂🙅🏽‍♂️ I covered the existing ceiling design, experimented with gap-and-crack expanding foam from @homedepot, and shaped 8 individual tentacles, because yes, my octopus actually has 8 eight 😂 Then came carving, cutting, sanding, shaping, spray painting and installing everything overhead. The result? A little sculpture, a little installation, a little @strangerthingstv, and a whole lot of Cary Michael🐙🖤 And what better way to unveil NEW ART than with NEW FOOD? 👀🍸🍽️ SULOD brought us back for an exclusive four-course tasting of their new menu and cocktails: 🍳 Creole deviled eggs 🍗 SULOD wings 🥗 Caesar, But Make It SULOD (my favorite!😋) 🍜 Pancit noodles 🐟 Blackened salmon with garlic rice + roasted cabbage 🍤 Shrimp Creole 🍸 Purple Pick Me Up (ube espresso martini) + Clear Intentions 🍥 @matelnabakes pandan cinnamon roll + ube brownie New art, New menu… ONE dope dining experience🔥 📍 Pull up to SULOD Cocktail Bar x Kitchen, 1250 H St NE, Washington, DC TODAY! Come for Wine Down Wednesday, karaoke + happy hour, the cocktails and new menu, & make sure you LOOK UP when you walk in 🐙👀 FOLLOW @sulodcocktailbar for what’s happening next, and @artbaeonline + @carymichael_ for more art, culture and creative experiences across the DMV. Big love to everyone who helped bring the experience together: @WildeIrishGin • @WildeLathan • @Artbaeonline • @Carymichael_ • @Mindbolic • @Atehkuya.creatives • @matelnabakes• @sulodcocktailbar • @tia.rahnee 🖤 COME for the food, look UP for the art, and STAY for the experience! 🥂✨… because around here, even the ceiling deserves a moment 🐙👨🏽‍🎨🎨‼️ #TestimonyTuesday #SULODDC #Artbae #DMVArt #DCFood

It’s Mental Health Monday x Minority Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠🎨💙✨ As we continue recognizing Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re looking back at another unforgettable Created2Create After School Art Club session at @ccpcspetworth, reminding us why emotional wellness conversations matter all year long. 🎨 Pop Art vs. Popping Off Let’s be honest… we’ve all had moments when someone pushed our buttons😅 But is popping off always the answer. Our therapeutic facilitator @theegeeproject of @amethystcounseling kicked things off by teaching students that emotional regulation is one of the greatest forms of strength. ✨ Pause. 🫁 Breathe. 🧠 Reset. 💙 Recalibrate. 🚶🏾 Keep it pushing. Through a mindfulness exercise, students learned that not every situation deserves a reaction. Sometimes choosing peace is the most powerful response. Then our creative facilitator @kaylee.daryl challenged students to reflect on the power of their names. Your name carries identity, purpose and power💪🏽👑 Instead of letting someone else’s words define them, students celebrated who they are by creating bold, graffiti-inspired Pop Art name canvases filled with confidence, creativity, and self-expression. At Created2Create, we’re not just teaching art - we’re helping young people build confidence, emotional intelligence, healthy coping skills, and creative ways to express themselves, one conversation and one brushstroke at a time. What helps you reset when someone has you ready to pop off? 💬 Share your answer below. Someone else might need that reminder today🙌💯 ❤️ Like. 📲 Share. 🎨 Follow along as we continue creating spaces where young people can Create. Heal. Become! 🧠💙🎨✨ #MentalHealthMonday #MinorityMentalHealthAwarenessMonth #Created2Create #CreativeWellness #ArtTherapy

MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY LOOKS DIFFERENT WHEN YOU CREATE IT YOURSELF 🎭✨🎨🌱 This #ArtTherapyThursday, we’re reflecting on one of our favorite moments from Minority Mental Health Month, where creativity became a mirror 🪞, healing became the process ❤️‍🩹, and every participant stepped into the role of their own main character🌟 At our Character Creation vs. Self Creation workshop, participants didn’t just paint 3D figurines🎨🧸 They gave shape to identity, transformed stories into art, and explored who they’ve been, who they are, and who they’re becoming. 🌱✨ Because the strongest main character isn’t the loudest person in the room - it’s the one courageous enough to keep growing 💛🦋 Huge appreciation to creative facilitator Tone Butta (@butta_customs) for inspiring bold imagination through character design 🎭🎨, and therapeutic facilitator Dr. Munazza (@dr.munazza_) for creating space for honest reflection, healing, and meaningful conversation. 🧠💬🤝 Collectively, they reminded us that art isn’t just something we make, but it’s also something that can reshape and remake us ✨ Here’s your reminder: ✨ You are allowed to rewrite the narrative. 📖 🎨 You are allowed to evolve. 🌿 🧠 You are allowed to become the hero of your own story. 👑 Create 🎨 Heal ❤️‍🩹 Become✨ 🤝 Special thanks to the Kappa Foundation of Fort Washington @kffworg and Prince George’s Parks & Recreation @pgparks for believing in the power of creative wellness and helping make experiences like this possible. #ArtTherapyThursday #MinorityMentalHealthMonth #MainCharacterEnergy #CreativeWellness

AYEEE, it’s a #WinningWednesday🏆💪🏽 and I’m honored to share that I’ll be receiving the Visionary Vanguard Award from @chacc_dc during their 11th Annual Juneteenth Celebration & Benefit Dinner. To be recognized by an organization that has spent more than a decade investing in artists, young people, and the transformative power of creativity is something I don’t take lightly. Special thanks to my extraordinary art sis @kayemjay6 for this incredible honor, and congrats to my fellow honorees, @monicaray9300 and @lhendersonphd. It is a privilege to stand beside leaders who continue to move our communities forward✊🏽💚🖤❤️💛 Since it’s also #WisdomWednesday, here’s what I’ve learned: Vision is common. Stewardship is RARE. Many people have ideas, but few have the courage, discipline, integrity, and consistency to bring those ideas to life, especially when no one is applauding yet👀👏🏽 Being a visionary isn’t about being the most seen, instafamous, or loudest voice in the room. It’s about actually doing the work, seeking solutions over attention, creating opportunities beyond yourself, and using your gifts in service of others. You’ll encounter plenty of imitation, misunderstanding, and resistance. But people who are secure in their own purpose will celebrate the light in others instead of competing with it. Keep showing up, creating, serving and building. Someone else’s breakthrough may be waiting on your obedience to the vision💪🏽🏆🎨🔥 Join me as we celebrate freedom, creativity, and community! Grab your tickets today and meet us there! 📍 Old Congress Heights School, Washington, DC 📅 Friday, June 19th, 2026 ⏰ 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Then slide over to @sulodcocktailbar for the after-party and keep the celebration going. 🎶🥂♠️🎉 Thank you, @chacc_dc, for this recognition. I receive it with humility, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to continue using creativity as a catalyst for connection, healing, and change. Who’s pulling up? Drop a ❤️🖤💚 in the comments if I’ll see you there. #Juneteenth #CHACC #CaryMichael VisionaryVanguard CommunityImpact

It’s TAKE ME BACK TUESDAY✨🎶🖤💚 and PLEASE take me back to Turn Up Tuesday, January 13th, at @officialcarolinakitchen Sea & Soul in Bowie, Maryland, where we gathered for the live recording of LEVEL 39: THE SOUNDTRACK, a musical time capsule celebrating @carymichael_’s journey into Chapter 39. 🥂🎧 What started as a birthday celebration evolved into an experience. I invited 39+ of my favorite people to press play on a soundtrack built from 139+ of my favorite records, spanning R&B, Alternative R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul, House, Go-Go, Southern Classics, Afrobeats, Dance, and timeless throwbacks. From Aaliyah to UGK, Pretty Ricky to Moneybagg Yo, Jay-Z to Maxwell, every transition told a story. Every song represented a season. Every record reflected a piece of becoming. Huge shoutout to @yowillofficial for masterfully curating and mixing this three-hour journey. Even though we’re two seasons removed, somehow the chartreuse, black, and white dress code, the fur coats, the energy, and the music still hit exactly the same😮‍💨🔥 One thing about me, I don’t just curate activations, I curate experiences. The kind that bring people together, spark nostalgia, create new memories, and remind us that joy is worth celebrating loudly. Special thanks to everyone who helped bring this vision to life: 🎤 MC: @ashanticynnik 🎨 Live Painting: @creativemarkz 💃🏻 Performance: @primavalentina ✨ Community Support: @lynnbitt 🎭 Creative Energy: @aprileudora 🏡 Venue Partner: @carolinakitchendc 🍸 After-hours vibes: @kins_speakeasy + @_kin_law A huge thank you to every person who pulled up, dressed up, sang along, danced, laughed, toasted, and helped make this night unforgettable. You are part of The Soundtrack🤍 Featured Spirits: 🍷 @hedonstate 🥃 @brothawhiskey 🍸 @wildeirishgin The soundtrack is perfect for summer road trips, vacation flights, backyard cookouts, rooftop kickbacks, and late-night drives home☀️🚗🎶 🔗 Tap the link in bio to watch the full recording of LEVEL 39: THE SOUNDTRACK. ▶️ Subscribe, download, share it with your people, and help us spread the vibes. 🎧 Presented by: @artbaeonline

Hundreds of conversations. Countless connections. One reminder: None of us are meant to heal alone🫂 It’s #MentalHealthMonday & Men’s Mental Health Month 🧠💙 and I’m still reflecting on the energy from Friday night’s Created2Create Coalition Mixer, presented by @artbaeonline and The Created2Create Coalition, hosted by @carymichael, @ashanticynnik + @mindbolicstudios. What began as an idea became a room full of artists, therapists, wellness advocates, and community members choosing connection over isolation, conversation over silence, and community over carrying it all alone. The networking was on point. The panel discussion was powerful. The conversations were honest. & The impact was REAL. I’m beyond grateful to everyone who trusted the vision and helped bring this experience to life: ✨ Coalition Voices + Facilitators: @shawnessadevonish @_wellnessjuan @dunnieo x @dunnietheartist @neeknil @core_therapyandhealing 🎙️ Moderator: @ashanticynnik x @cynnikevents 🎨 Featured Artists: @aprileudora @kaylee.daryl @a__unique_perspective_ 🎷 Live Sax Experience: @eddiekjr 🎧 Afterparty Sounds: @konshince 🤝 Co-Host: @mindbolicstudios 🍸 Special Thanks: @sulodcocktailbar & @shellztanasha for providing such an incredible space for connection, creativity, and community. 📸 Special acknowledgement to @freezeframe.af for beautifully capturing the essence, emotion, and energy of the evening through his lens, and to @men_to_heal for the dope tee that became the focal point of my ensemble 👕 Thank you to every attendee, volunteer, coalition member, partner, supporter, and friend who showed up fully. Collectively, we created a space where people felt seen, heard, valued, and connected🖤❤️ The evening served as proof that when creativity, wellness, vulnerability, and community occupy the same room, powerful things happen. Follow @artbaeonline and stay tuned for more photos, clips, conversations, and moments from the evening throughout Men’s Mental Health Month. ✨ Because community is wellness. 🎨 Because creativity is medicine. 🧠 Because healing deserves a seat at the table. #MensMentalHealthMonth #Artbae #Created2Create #CreativeWellness
